Not all of them. There were even people from CANADA that fought with the south. Not everyone that lived in the south support slavery or the war. Not everyone in the north opposed slavery .See, they didn't support slavery, they just fought for it.
Yes South Africa was an example of reverse racism.I do not understand what you're saying, please clarify your post.

Today the south ( by in-large still is for small government, so it that sense it is certainly more than a flag.Your right on all those factors. Some simply joined in the CSA army because their state went Rebel, and they didn't want to fight their own state (more loyalty to state then country).
BUT
All what you said doesn't change the fact that most people in the South supported slavery and the cause of secession and the CSA. If more then 50% of the white southerners were against the ideals of the CSA.....well it would be VERY surprising how the Confederacy would even be developed and last as long as it did.
South Africa was not an example of reverse racism, reverse racism is a made up term.Yes South Africa was an example of reverse racism.
Older definitions of racism do not include an important aspect of racism, it is not simply disliking or feeling superiority to another group, it is taking that attitude and ascribing power to it. Hence when the KKK marches, it's yawn-worthy as they no longer wield the power they once held. So what institutions do African Americans control that give them power to discriminate against other groups racially? When you asked about what blacks owned where the racism was occuring I pointed out that a black could be racist they do not have to own anything or be part of some big company or group to be racist.
Yet they take the most in federal dollars per capita.Today the south ( by in-large still is for small government, so it that sense it is certainly more than a flag.
Right handness though is a bit different since that CAN in fact be a safety issue, so it would stand to reason that if a large majority of people are right-handed which is the case that things would by in large be designed for them.South Africa was not an example of reverse racism, reverse racism is a made up term.

And to explain white privilege, white privilege is pointing out that American society is geared and designed to the benefit of White Americans. For instance, when it comes to school standards, there are often demands that standards be increased or unchanged when comparing students to African American and Latino students (arguing that they must not be held back), but then arguing to slow things down due to stress when compared to Asian students (arguing that it is too competitive). In both cases, the system is catering to the White majority.
Another great example is right-hand privilege. Most people in the world are right-handed, thus products and facilities are designed to cater to a right-handed populous.
Yet they take the most in federal dollars per capita.
It is a privilege to be right-handed. When you buy something in the store, it is already designed for you. If you need something with a right-handed design, you are guaranteed to find it in the store (and likely in your size). Left-handed people are more limited. Simply pointing that out is not suggesting that left-handed people cannot succeed or function in this world, it's just not designed for them.Isn't it fascinating how more and more our beingness and reality is becoming labeled as a privilege? What's that make it for everything else?
That is irrelevant, the world is still advantageous to right-handed people.Right handness though is a bit different since that CAN in fact be a safety issue, so it would stand to reason that if a large majority of people are right-handed which is the case that things would by in large be designed for them.
I don't think you'd ever fly a Nazi banner especially not in front of Jews or Holocaust survivors or even modern Germans for that matter, because of what that flag means. Now consider the Confederate flag means about the same to many people in our country. If people want to own one privately and fly it on their property then that is one thing and I have no problem with that but I don't see why any US State would fly the flag or honor the symbols of a now defunct state from 150 years ago that seceded from our country to maintain the barbaric system of slavery while we tried to move away from it.I have no issue it is a FLAG OK a FLAG.
That's a good point. I'm not exactly sure why I have a problem with one and not the other. The flag of Hawaii. We have fought two bloody wars with Great Britain, yet the symbol of the bloody regime of King George III still adorns a state flag. Where is the outrage?
I have no issue it is a FLAG OK a FLAG.
Well, no,, but it is not as if most in the south today dislike blacks it is about being proud of being southern if people cannot handle that that is their issue.
And they shouldn't complain when people call them racists.Glad Mississippi didn't bow to political correctness. If the people want to keep the flag as is, then the politicians and activists shouldn't be able to force it to be changed.
I think we've had this discussion before. Symbols have associated meaning, but it's important to remember that that's all it is. They don't have inherent meaning.Flags are symbols, symbols have meaning. If they were flying a pentagram in honor of Satan, many Christians would be justifiably outraged. Likewise if they were flying the flag of Nazi Germany, Jewish people (and many other people) would be justifiably outraged. Flags are symbols, symbols have meaning.
