You're right. There is no way to explain them.

Yes, there were a few hoaxes, and mostly those concerned rather simple designs, but aside from them, there have been many crop circles for which there just is no explanation.

You said you lean towards angels. I don't know why angels would be making crop circles that no one understands, but that is one possibility. If so, it's a guess. That's we can do at this point--guess--and the guesses are potentially endless.

Are you seriously telling all the readers here that you have extensive expertise in crop circles? Are you saying that we should accept your unadorned assurance that many crop circles are so complex that they are beyond the limits of human ingenuity?

I find that unlikely. The "circle investigators" tend to be paranormal investigators, not scientists.

(FYI, the E-meter is the overly sensitive electromagnetic detector that Scientology uses to scam people with the "responses".)

The circles are all consistent with human construction, even if you can't quite figure out how they worked out the geometry of the design in the dark.

It's important to recall that most of the crop designs occur in fields where the farmer has not authorized them and are therefore vandalism and property destruction.

Crop circles have been described as all falling "within the range of the sort of thing done in hoaxes" by Taner Edis, professor of physics at Truman State University.

It may be only a small point, but it's not the case that a few remain unexplained. If that were the case, then we'd probably conclude that most were genuine and we just had yet to figure out the remaining ones.

But it's only the older and simpler ones that have been explained away, and the newer and more complicated ones are nothing like them. The two farmers with a board, by the way, did their work before science got much into the study of crop circles. What they did with a board is so rudimentary that most of us could replicate it. Not so the crop circles that appeared later.

It's also impossible. For one thing, nobody knows how the more complicated circles can have been created overnight simply because of the time that would be needed, regardless of which tools might have been used. How the equipment and/or personnel got into the design area and left from it when the project was done, leaving no trace in the rest of the crops or elsewhere, remains a mystery. And cameras have filmed some of these fields continuously and seen the circles appear, yet no human or anything else that might explain the origin, coming from the sky or anywhere else, appears on the videos.

It is. By counting the number of cars in my driveway, I assume that the number and size of alien space ships are smaller than my Ford Focus, or it would be seen from space.
