Who is that? Are there real mediums producing real ectoplasm out their noses?
Uri Geller? He's made a good living out of claiming to do with his mind alone what others can only do with their hands (i.e. bend spoons, etc). Sadly his powers weaken to uselessness under well-controlled conditions, so scientific confirmation is elusive. Paranormal and supernatural powers seem to be shy of close examination - perhaps this explains why one is expected to believe without evidence...

Post 88 was a waste of my time reading it.

How does a website that I give say that electromagnetic anomalies accompanied crop circles, then someone just calls it "pseudoscience"?

Is that what electromagnetic anomalies are to you guys? pseudoscience?

Is this conversation going anywhere?

If the conversation regards a paper about a nonscientist using a piece of equipment in a way it's not intended for a purpose it's not designed for, I'm not sure where it can go other than 'why would anyone lend the slightest credence to this?'

The idea is that if the methodology, data, and analysis are flawed, then the science is flawed. The paper you linked doesn't give enough details to pass as a 6th form science project, but if it replicates the results of the debunked studies using similar equipment in similar ways, the conclusion follows.

Looks like an organic chem diagram for a pentane
Yes, I reminded me of isobutane, but it's a hydrogen short on each carbon:

My organic chemistry is lost in the mists of age, so I couldn't think what would make a proper match.

So aliens are marking that as a flash-fire area?
. Let’s see 2,4,di methyl 3 isopropyl pentane if I recall correctly . I remember a little of my organic chem . That’s just organic chemistry 101 stuff AV

According to study.com, it is quite volatile too.
A highly flammable compound, if it mixes with air as a vapor it can be explosive. These extreme personality traits of pentane place it in the category of being volatile. In fact, because of these volatile outbursts pentane is classified as a volatile organic compound.

This is A pentane but it’s not n- pentane . They name organic chemicals from the longest carbon chain .

C-C-C-C-C Picture 3 hydrogens on the end carbons and 2 hydrogens on the remaining 3 carbons . That’s n- pentane. All alkanes follow that rule . The end Carbons have 3 hydrogen and the middle carbons have 2 unless there’s something else attached .

C-C-C-C-C
2,4 dimethyl - a methyl group attached to the second and 4 th carbons Methyl is CH3, di means 2 because there are 2 methyl groups

isopropyl is a chain of 3 carbons C-C-C and it’s attached to other carbon chains by the middle carbon . Plain propyl would be attached by one of the end carbons . Isopropyl alcohol has an OH group attached to that middle carbon . With O being oxygen and H being hydrogen .

What's your take on crop circles?
I think they are made by people and I hope that it's their own crops they are doing this to. I live in farm country and I know how much work and money goes into a crop. If Aliens exist and want to let us know I think they could think of a better way than making designs in crops. I've seen lots of UFOs. I lost count of the number at 18 some years ago but I don't believe they are aliens. I think they are some secret technology that the government has that they don't tell us about.

Sounds good to me! If one showed up near us, I'd probably take it with a grain of wheat.

I've never seen a UFO myself, but we used to live just miles from an AFB, and they had UFOs on their radar all the time.
