  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hiya Godflute2, sounds like you've got everyone's crocheting juices happenin!
Im another crocheting addict, and there are plenty of us here in oz. I was self taught, then discovered there was more to it than just doing big granny square rugs, and went to a local craft group at the Baptist here. They call it "HI-Time". Thats how I come back to God actually... but anyway that's another story.... :)

I have big heaps of patterns, so if you're looking for one in particular, give me a yell... etc :) Some are in american wording, others, English/Australian. little bit different... same result.

The net is definately the place to go for something different and bulk inspiration and motivation too!!! Only thing is you tend to end up with a number of unfinished projects too ;)

How's that scarf going Beetlequeendiva?

What REALLY helped me, when doing doilies, was a pattern mag I found in a store (I think it was Magic Crochet) that uses diagrams, as well as written instructions. I am much more visual, and it made it very easy for me. Maybe you can find something like that.

I did not realize there was a whole lot of difference between, but I am speaking out of ignorance most likely. I know we have numbers or letters assigned to our hooks vs actual size in milimeters. Could you tell me about the British variation then perhaps some of us americans can help you a bit more. :)

"Stress reliever" Amen to that, well, for me anyways. My brother's just learning and keeps making the same mistake. I think it causes stress for him. Hopfully he'll figure this out doon and can have fun with it.
