Governor Offers Reward for Information on the Destruction of Electric Utility Infrastructure in Moore County​

Today, Governor Roy Cooper announced that the State, Duke Energy and Moore County are each offering monetary rewards of up to a total of $75,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the destruction of utility substations in Moore County. The State is providing up to $25,000 while Duke Energy and Moore County are also each offering rewards up to $25,000.

Chief Deputy Richard Maness said the Moore County Sheriff's Office had applied for several warrants over the past few days. Maness said the warrants are "under seal" and declined to confirm what property the warrants were for, or even whether they'd been carried out yet.

Sounds like the obvious solution is to make transformers bulletproof.

Wouldn't it be better to arm the transformer? A terrorist would be less likely to attack and armed transformer. As long as the transformer has no priors it shouldn't be a problem. And even if the transformer is a convicted criminal it's as easy as pie to get a gun from a private collector.

I think that the sensible design choice would be small pockets of artificial blood in front of the plates or amor resistant fabric. That way, the children look like they bleed out and become less interesting for a school shooter who is going for a high kill count.

If you're going to do that wouldn't it be better to pre-drawn blood from the child in pouches attached to their skin. This could be already hooked up to an IV so when the child gets shot the blood could begin to be pumped in straight away.

This has the added advantage of cushioning any fall and making them empathise with fat and sickly kids, more.

Blood pouches only last for a couple of weeks, and that's with ideal refridgeration. A vest that refridgerates the blood pouches would be way too bulky for children to do a combat roll out of the window, and also so obvious that only the most distracted mass shooters would miss the heat exchange grills. And that's not even talking about the power use and the fact that children bodies don't produce blood fast enough to replace the pouches.

All in all, a nice idea, but not a sustainable business model. Maybe we can get back to that once artificial blood is invented.
