  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

He has the right to legal advice, and the government to ask him properly, through pre existing channels. They seem to be the ones who are acting inappropriately.

Innocent until proven guilty - the burden is on the government, not the other way around

Amen. I can't speak for the rest of the world, but what is being done is un-American. Somebody needs to take Grassley to the woodshed. :)

Did people get together with the sole purpose of buying it for him or did he use church funds?

This is going to sound harsh, so please forgive me in advance, but how is that anybody's business?

Do you give to ministries for your personal reps, or do give because the Holy Spirit led you to give?

Ahhh, finally I have found the gate keeper of the "in the Name of God" portal. Gosh, you should have spoken up sooner!
So everyone that says they are a minister of God should just be given a pass right? We should ensure that touch not the Lord's anointed?

I would do the same for myself, not some tax exempt ministry that I ran. The ministry is being investigated. I would stand up for his individual rights all day long, but he needs to be forthcoming about his ministry. Joyce Meyer, bless her heart, is doing the right thing. $ will use money that people give for the Gospel to try to protect himself, just as he has used it to live a lavish lifestyle.

How about the separation of church and state? Do you really think that you are the only one who has ever existed that understood the basic nature of fallen man? Can you not see that possibly, the founding fathers were bright enough to have insight that you now observe in yourself?

Just because they didn't have a clue what an "email" would be, does not mean they weren't the best and the brightest of any day and age.

How arrogant is it to think that we are somehow more "intellegent" than those men who founded this nation?

This issue has nothing to do with church/state seperation. Ministries get into bed with the gov't when they want a tax exempt status. Time to play by the world's rules now. Don't want the gov't poking its nose in, don't get involved with them.

Because that would be a misuse of funds, PERIOD. He should have used that money on a more economical car (assuming he needed one) and gave the rest to a better cause. This is an offering, not the Help give Creflo Dollar a Rolls Royce fund.

By the way, if you don't "get in bed" with the government by being 501-C3 than they will try to make you. My father in law's church just got done with a court battle because they refuse to be 501-C3.

I applaud him for trying. I find it fascinating when Chrisitians are suprised that the world may actually try to do bad things to them.

There would be no such thing as "tax exempt status" if it were not for the constitution of the United States of America. Perhaps it's time we investigate the "coat-tail" organizations of that fundamental premise. Perhaps then PBS. Or maybe "Voice of America". How about the demand that cable channels carry local "public access" stations? How about my grand personal favorite "PETA"?!!!! Shall we go on?!! :D :D :D

This is the absolute stupidest thing I've seen in my many years as an American. Six well known Christian organizations publically announced as being under "investigation", and all of them having some association with the Word of Faith message.

Can you not see how hypocritical that is? Are you really that close minded?

Lol! That's like asking the U.N. to police itself. Meaning, it 'aint never gonna happen. But I like the way you think ;)

Agreed, you know something funny I just thought about well it's not funny but...... The church and state is "suppose to be sepereate" but the government was based off of christian princples and beliefs from what I have learn". Remember when you read the next part remember it's "seperate" but when it comes to going to court you have to swear on the bible, but why if it's "seperate". The government choses what rules to enforce and not.Which beliefs to accept and which ones not to. It's alot of corruption going on in the worl these days hard to tell soemtimes who is and who isn't but all we can do is pray and hope for better.

Personally I think it is hypocritical to expect that any gov't would play nice with any Christian organization. There is no Godly gov't on this planet right now. There rarely has been. The notion of religious freedom and the seperation of church and state although great in principle are unscriptural.

You're gonna have to provide scripture for that premise then. I reject it out of hand. (I don't reject you, just the premise you have boldly entered into. :) )

He actually won. His church and the "parent" church both have long histories with the local government.

I think history bears it out. Kings are the only authority we ever see scripturally installed. However I do believe a Christian should honorably subject himself to the gov't that has rule over them.

So then to avoid answering directly, you would manuver yourself into a position to give some standard text?

To be honest, I thought more highly of you. :)
