Creative Storyline Thread

This game will draw upon your creativity and is alot of fun. We are creating a sequential storyline together.

1. The thread starts out with a single sentence which begins a chronological storyline.

2. Each sentence will consist of one or more nouns (a noun is a person, place or thing) and at least one verb (action).

The first sentence in the chronological storyline is:

Wendy watched the 4th of July fireworks with her family.

3. Next what you do is select one of the nouns from the immediately previous sentence (for example, 'Wendy', 'fireworks' or 'family').

4. Then you affix a brand new verb (action) to the immediately previous noun that you selected, in a chronological fashion.

Your new sentence will be the next sequential event in the storyline. When we are done, our new story may be as long as a novel, lolol.

Fireworks, glittering brilliantly in a myriad of beautiful colours, delighted the folk who flocked outside to watch the show.

The show lasted for over an hour, before everyone went to bed, so that they weren't sleepy for work the next day.

For those who were unemployed, celebrating independence seemed bittersweet.

So the unemployed people began searching for work the next day.

Work, however, was something very difficult to obtain in this city unless one were prepared to work long hours in grimy cafes, for example, for very little pay.

So, because they couldn't find work, they decided to file together for unemployment.

The unemployment office was a singularly unattractive building with jaded assistants waiting wearily to take each person through the ten pages of forms which needed to be filled out.

The ten pages of forms, upon completion had to be notarized and hand delivered to the UC claims officer who had gone home sick yesterday and was not expected back until Monday.

Therefore the unemployed people still didn't have enough money for food, thereby leading to sensations of guilt for being out of work.

Just up the road and round the corner, a hive of activity was going on as volunteers bagged up parcels of food for those who had need of it.

Noticing the volunteers bagging parcels, the family inquired who the food might be intended for.

The children in the family tried to look unconcerned and uninterested as their parents spoke with the volunteers, turning afterwards with a smile to tell their kids that they were eligible for some food.

Insofar as there were many other people who also needed food, the volunteers could only give the family a tiny supply due to rationing.

Nevertheless, the supply was sufficient for a hearty meal each and as they ate that evening, they blessed the folk who willingly donated food, and it just gave all of them a lift in the courage stakes as their father faced another long day looking for work.

Due to the father's unemployment record, many potential employers were not serious about taking him on for a new job position.

However, although many employers turned him away, he came at last to a place where the boss was looking for someone and was prepared to give this man a go.

The man started his first day at work, but his health problems began to catch up to him, so he was not as productive as he could have been.

The foreman noticed that he wasn't up to par and told him about the on-site doctor who would be happy to look after his health for only a minimal fee per month, and get him back into tip-top condition.

However, the man was still a bit worried, because his previous doctors couldn't really help his health substantially, so he was afraid yet of losing his new job.
