  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Creationist have problems with evolution because evolution makes sense.

There is a theory behind every technology; in this case, it is primarily wave theory.
So if we lift it out of the realm of THEORY and make it a LAW, will they work better?

You want to know what's ironic, MoonLancer?

While you guys were frothing at the mouth at us because we couldn't come up with a working definition of KIND --- Pluto reared up and caught you guys off-guard without a definition of PLANET.

The scientific definition of planet has been fixed. When will creationists begin to address the scientific definition for KIND?

And you had to sacrifice that whole planet to save face.

Sacrificed? What a curious notion. Pluto is still there and unaltered/ unadulterated, AVVET. You seem to think that whatever words we use to describe a thing somehow changes that thing?
Heh, and you say you don't believe in magic... Pshaw, from this, you seem to think "planet" is a magic word, capable of sacrificing or preserving celestial bodies.

Congrats? So i have to go read through all your posts to see what you have proven? If you want to have a conversation here, you can't just say "I did it". Show me, don't just state that you have done it. So what if S.E.T.I. comes back with a transmission from another planet? What does that have to do with lazy creationists and getting actual, factual, statistical articles published in renowned journals?

I am still waiting, AV1611VET.

I am still waiting, AV1611VET.
Still waiting on what?

Do you have a specific question you want me to get off my high-horse and answer for you?

If so --- ask it.

I'm sure I've answered every question one can ask a Creationist at least a dozen times.

One more time isn't gonna break me.

evolution fails at the start unless you can accept that something can appear from nothing as an act of nothing with influence from no one.

The Theory of Evolution has nothing to do with "something coming from nothing". You're a little closer to the field of abiogenesis... but you're not really even there, since hypotheses within abiogenesis do not postulate that "something came from nothing" either.

I suppose you might be talking about the Big Bang Theory.... but even THAT doesn't claim that "something came from nothing". In fact, modern science openly tells us that something cannot come from nothing. Matter cannot be created or destroyed.

So... I suppose you just don't know what you're talking about. ;)

Abiogenesis for one. It was taught for a long time without out one piece of evidence to support it.

Might want to check your sources. Abiogenesis isn't being taught, nor has it been taught. Its existence as a field of study might be mentioned, but you can't teach something that doesn't have an established theory yet.

Greater Than>Less Then

Telescopes running on wave theory work just fine.
I didn't say they didn't; I said maybe they'll work BETTER though - (just let Split Rock handle this).

So if we lift it out of the realm of THEORY and make it a LAW, will they work better?

Then we need to upgrade all these radiotelescopes that run on "wave theory" to radiotelescopes that run on "wave law".

I didn't say they didn't; I said maybe they'll work BETTER though - (just let Split Rock handle the conversation).

What? I thought you were joking! ^_^

OK then... I agree, we should start using Wave Law instead of theory to make the SETI project work better. How would that actually work as a practical matter, though? hmmmm....

You are such a cut-up!! ^_^
I was serious about S.E.T.I. though --- since he said he doesn't agree with anything being taught w/o evidence.

S.E.T.I. has no evidence whatsoever, yet at one time was the apple of science's eye.

Just like this Superconductive Semicollision thing --- or whatever it's called.
