People have done that. I've done that on one occasion on a few issues. My phone call was screened by staff and I was disconnected.

Basically, Hovind has no answer. He simply ignores the question.

One version of Christianity: Biblical literalism. After all, isn't dust the erosion of rock? And doesn't a literal reading of Genesis 2 say Adam was formed from dust?

Also we did not, "dismiss Creation(ism) so easy", it did that to itself- in the 1800's, perhaps have you not heard yet? It went under the same scientific standards as Evolution has/is-only it was falsified. What will you try to sell in here next, Phlogiston Chemistry?

Bad Science and lying have no connection to religious "truth".... You harm Christianity, not help it. Do you think anyone here is going to run to church Sunday or "get saved" because we have been blown away by your logic? Its funny that even hovind the expert wont participate in a written debate, he is only willing to participate in a verbal debate. Verbal debates are not very good for a scientific debate, but since hovind doesn't promote real science, that works for him

As far as Hovind being an expert, you are right. He is an expert at telling people what they want to hear to take their money. Its called a scam, and unfortunatly you have fallen for it.
Its one of the best scams, as its based on religion. And since people cling to religious beliefs more than other things, even when someone hears how false the scammer is, that person will do all sorts of mental gymnastics to keep the belief that they haven't been scammed alive. In effect the target of the scam, helps to perpetrate the scam on themselves. Very effective.

Odd-these people run in here and spout off about the wonders of Creationism (which in itself is pretty strange). THEN-praise the name of Hovind (who is not even a scientist) and then run back out. Conversley, Evolution has MANY,MANY REAL and legitimate scientist behind it yet they close their eyes and ears to real information.

The problem with short verbal debates is that it isn't issue vs issue, it's person vs person. Willing to bet that I could make a better case for creationism than many YEC's can simply because I can recall more about it off the top of my head. Does that make my position right? No, it just shows that my opponent doesn't know the exact answer off the top of their head. Throw enough absurd claims at an opponent (like hovind) and they won't be able to answer them all on the spot. Hovind is nothing more than a masterdebator.

You mean to say that you think a theory is a metaphysical phenomena? That seems wrong in every sense of the word.

A scientific theory is created after all the facts have been examined so it is based on the physical. The theory is just an explanation of those facts. Even if you meant that it's metaphysical since it's only a thought you are wrong since a theory can be observed. Ie objects fall down, creatures experience changes in their genomes, etc

Objects can be observed, experienced, and perceived by the physical senses but theories only exist in the human mind, therefore they are metaphysical. (extra-sensory perception)

There may be various (even competing) hypotheses within the theory of evolution, but the theory of evolution itself is beyond the hypothesis stage.



Then you do not understand how the word "theory" is used by scientists. (Metaphysical?)

A scientific "theory" may be based on physical observation but the theory itself exists only in the human mind. What is so difficult to understand about that?
