Pete Harcoff said:"So the phylogeny of human development inferred from the fossil record and later confirmed by genetics doesn't exist then? It's all a figment of my imagination?"
Well, if you could show me your version of the phylogeny of human development inferred from the fossil record and later confirmed by genetics, I may be inclined to give your hypothesis of human evolution some consideration, but from what I've read of phylogeny, it's all based on the assumption that human evolution has actually occurred, a presuppostion which I find preposterous from a scientific point of view.
"Out of curiosity here, how much research have you done on the subject of evolution and specifically human evolution? And what point are you trying to make here? (You're not part nihilist are you?)"
I've read Darwin's "Descent of Man" and have recognized the racial prejudice in his inferences of 'ape-to-man' hypothesis. I don't think I am a nihilist although I do believe in "Creation ex Nihilo."
I thought we did that last week.Pete Harcoff said:Plotting the downfall of Western civilization... duh.![]()
What are we going to do tonight, Brain?
What we do every night, Pinky: plan to take over the world!

do you know anything about endogenous retroviral sequences and transposons, and did you look at winaces thread?john crawford said:Well, if you could show me your version of the phylogeny of human development inferred from the fossil record and later confirmed by genetics, I may be inclined to give your hypothesis of human evolution some consideration, but from what I've read of phylogeny, it's all based on the assumption that human evolution has actually occurred, a presuppostion which I find preposterous from a scientific point of view.
that's a no to the previous questions then.I've read Darwin's "Descent of Man" and have recognized the racial prejudice in his inferences of 'ape-to-man' hypothesis. I don't think I am a nihilist although I do believe in "Creation ex Nihilo."

No, and who the hell cares? What's paleontology got to do with the price of tea in China or the cost of living and dying in America?troodon said:Dino-Bird transitions:

woah, what an amazing tangent.... I stuck it through a couple of calculations, and it is undoubtedly the most orthogonal argument I have ever seen.john crawford said:No, and who the hell cares? What's paleontology got to do with the price of tea in China or the cost of living and dying in America?
Can you tell me what science is?
Woah, calm down there pal. Paleontology has nothing to do with the price of tea in China or the cost of living and dying in America.john crawford said:No, and who the hell cares? What's paleontology got to do with the price of tea in China or the cost of living and dying in America?

And then....?Jet Black said:well bacteria have been seen evolving into multicellular organisms.
no, they do quite well then. remember though that in the modern day, being multicellular isn't all that useful on it's own, since there are a whole bunch of better adapted organisms. note thhough that this isn't the point - the point is that a large change has been observed happening, and given the correct environment, this would be very beneficial.john crawford said:And then....?
Dying off.

Have you?john crawford said:I've been infected by them.
Your post betrays your ignorance of the subject of religion.Pete Harcoff said:Your post betrays your igorance of the subject of evolution.
Good job we are not talking about religion, then. This is a science forum, in case you missed it.john crawford said:Your post betrays your ignorance of the subject of religion.
Sure, the bell trolls for thee.Arikay said:LOL.
In forensics they make the same "observations" that evolution does. Putting together evidence from the past.
(Anyone else leaning to our friend here being a troll?)
