• CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

  • I am for creation totally not evolution

  • I am for evolution partly and creation partly

  • I have not decided to make up my mind yet

I don't want to make a poll each day but this is going to be an open opinioned poll not tailored for a one sided view (as polls shouldn't be else what's the point!) so I am going to be as fair minded with the polling options as I can be. It is a black and white question again but that makes it better as it straight forward and to the point without being twisted around. I will add my view once in my time of my choosing but the poll votes are really for everyone to see what each thinks and seperates your opinion from other peoples arguements. It is not to see who can get the bigger vote result more for as a census of the opinions out there.

Okay, What do you believe in about evolution and creation? Vote now please :)

I think most people know what my opinions are if they come here often. I have my slant just like each and everyone in this forum. But this poll it is not about what I personally think as I have other threads I can place them in. It is just to see a statistic of given opinions by forum members. Personal opinioned postings are optional and not for my questioning but one can add a contribution opinion in words to the thread if one chooses so.

I happen to believe that God did create everything. I also happen to believe that evolution (aka science) is showing is how God did it.

Think option 3 should suffice in that instance, sure it will fudge in somehow. I never thought of it in the options. Good point though.

You are completely correct. Read the Science of God. It goes into explicit detail of how Science can prove Religion, not disprove it. There is some great evidence linking both Creation and Evolution

I believe that various life forms developed over the course of time and that Human Beings evolved from previous biological life forms.
But I do acknowledge that the hand of God is behind this developement.

Our souls, of course, are specially created by God.

Christiananswers.net... I like this part:

Danger NO. 2 ... God becomes a God of the Gaps

  • The Bible states that God is the Prime Cause of all things. "But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things ... and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by Him" (1 Corinthians 8:6). However, in theistic evolution the only workspace allotted to God is that part of nature which evolution cannot "explain" with the means presently at its disposal. In this way He is reduced to being a "god of the gaps" for those phenomena about which there are doubts. This leads to the view that "God is therefore not absolute, but He Himself has evolved - He is evolution".2
  • That's funny because it is creationism that posits a God of the Gaps (intervening outside the laws of nature at different "points" in history), and theistic evolution that presents God as being ever-present in the workings of nature.Of course all of the reasons they give are weak, and many are incorrect on some points. If I were a theistic evolutionist, I would counter this...:
Nowhere in the Bible are there any indications that the creation account should be understood in any other way than as a factual report.
with this...: Nowhere in the Bible are there any indications that the creation account should be understood in any way other than allegorical myth. Arguments from silence don't get you very far...

More on the "God of the Gaps".. I think this author is expressing sour grapes because the "gap" of the origin of the human race, where he had previously inserted god, has been filled by science, and theistic evolutionists acknowledge that science has plugged this gap. The creationist wants his gap back.
