I'm not really into painting either lol, but I've always wanted to get into it. =) I do have a painting I did when I was in high school (I think), and it wasn't bad. :) @PeachieKeen's painting turned out great though.

I might also post a few more handmade gifts and sketches later.

I'm not real crafty when it comes to actual crafts. But I would love to make some things like this:

I've always wanted to get more into robotics. As kids, one of my friends and I would create and battle robots made out of K'nex lol; we were inspired by the show BattleBots. I eventually got into Lego MindStorms, and recently tried a robotics kit from Parallax.

Here is one of the Sumo bots I assembled - it included a breadboard on top for prototyping, and featured it's own, easy-to-use programming language / API:

Btw, I think it's time to clean my laptop lol.

Has anyone here gotten into the rock painting fad?
Around here it is the hot thing to do.

Hmm Is it like this?

If so, I've noticed this fad too! A few places near here leave them in random spots to brighten peoples day if they find them. Also I think there was a game awhile back in my county where people hid them and then whomever found the most won a prize. :D

How about gluing little glass gems of a green color to a wreath for the holidays?

I love that :bigeye: It's so pretty. You could do that and maybe put a light in the middle? It might make it illuminate around the room or something.

Such fun ideas!! I think I'm gonna try the glue watercolor idea!

If you do, take a picture so I can see! :D

Yup, It is a huge trend where I live.
We have even started a rock painting group at my church.

:mmh: Maybe that could be something we all do if we ever have a big CF Singles Meetup. We could be all crafty together and paint rocks, then hide them.

Whomever finds the most gets some sort of prize... Bonus points for people who can figure out who painted certain rocks just by looking at them. :D

I just remembered some more crafts I've made. I've made cards for birthdays and holidays. I've made my own board games. Some years my brother and I made paper chains together to count down the days to Christmas; two years ago I made one by myself and drew and wrote things on the chains.
One year I made my own Advent calendar, one time I turned a cardboard box into a bed for my stuffed toys, and one year my parents and I decorated Christmas stockings for the family. Here are pictures of those. :)

And that makes me think...now that I know how to sew, I think it might be fun to make an Advent calendar from fabric.
