Me too.I was a Cradle, but I fell away. I am working my way back Home, so maybe I will end up being both
Memo from a convert to you cradle Catholics:
It's time to get out of the cradle!
*runs and hides*
yeah my dad is one of two people from his extended family who still practice the faithInteresting pattern here. There are more converts posting on this thread than cradle Catholics, and some of those are reverts. So the "pure" cradle Catholics are the minority. Not to change the topic, but I have often thought that converts (and reverts too) are more likely to be involved in their faith, whereas many cradle Catholics sort of take it for granted. They are Catholic by baptism and early education but don't get into their faith very deeply as adults. I call them sacrament Catholics. The indication here that converts and reverts may be the majority of Catholics active on this forum supports that idea. NOTE that this thread is not any kind of valid survey but the posts so far are illuminating.
Topcare, am I thinking of someone else or are you not a (Roman) Catholic anymore? It seems to me that you may have mentioned that once but I very well could be wrong.I was a Convert
I think that this may result from the fact that a convert has made a conscious decision to seek the faith. As a child we just accept what we are being taught and it becomes part of us more easily.Cradle, but I think converts have more fun.
I get the feeling it means more to them, and in turn, that absolute JOY that spills out of them floods us with joy, and it's awesome!
All good things

That's the way I see it as well.I think that this may result from the fact that a convert has made a conscious decision to seek the faith. As a child we just accept what we are being taught and it becomes part of us more easily.
My return to faith has been a conscious decision, and some days it is a hard road
