Hmm ... quality must vary from location to location.

My visit last week (21st) was fine. (I'm not a fan but I can find something to eat.)

As for cleanliness, my spouse notes almost every time we go that none of the tchotchkes have dust at all. It's pretty spotless.

My main complaint is that a number of items on the menu (drinks, mainly) weren't available. Supply chain issues?

I had a special: Steak and shrimp. The steak compared favorably to Texas Roadhouse and was cooked exactly as I ordered it. It was very tender.

Everyone at the table enjoyed the food.

I didn't try the corn bread, but the biscuits were buttery and compared favorably with Red Lobsters (without RL's special ingredients).

Anyway...
We had some items unavailable too.

Your review is more in-line with what I'd hope from them. Enjoyable for what it is... Mid tier chain restaurant... Like Chilis or even Outback or Longhorn/Texas Roadhouse. Not the best thing you could eat, but not the worst.

Thats half a day drive in LA.
That's wild. On one company trip, we got an early start and put in 400 to 490 miles on the road before we stopped for lunch. And yes, it was a Cracker Barrel. The stop let us stretch our legs and have a break.

Typically, we'd put in 240 to 280 miles before stopping for lunch. Often that would be a Cracker Barrel for the aforementioned reason.

Ran into that one Christmas' Eve. They were shutting down soon after lunch and had a limited menu.

Denny's tastes marginally better but wins handily by virtue of the fact that it is a whole lot cheaper, and Cracker Barrel is trying to save its bottom line by not buying salt. I have never in my life had so much consistently under-seasoned food, and I live in New England so that's really saying something. They need to cut their menu by at least half, decide what direction they want to go in for food, and upgrade the dated aspects of their meals and dining room. In 2025, offering a side of frozen corn is not going to win you customers.
Don't remember the issue with salt, but given the number of people who watch their sodium intake, it makes sense. You can put the salt in, but can't take it out.

Now, one breakfast at a Huddle House before the now grown kids were born, the grits served my wife and me had no salt, and the fried ham was too salty. So we'd take a bite of ham with a spoon full of grits.

Now, I won't drive out of my way to go to a Cracker Barrel. If I'm not in a hurry, it's nice. But I know people who really love it, or did. Changing the logo to something that awful offended them because they cared about it. Me? Well, it's been four years since I've been in one, and that was because of someone I was traveling with.
I guess the fans can be happy again.

The last time I went to Cracker Barrel I called in the order then when I went to pick it up I waited 30 minutes, I checked with them to see what was taking so long then they told me they didn't have my order.
I left and I haven't been back.
But did you enjoy the logo?

The label a company chooses like with Uncle Bens, Land O Lakes, etc triggered the Left,
Never happened.
so they went after them and forced the companies to change the labels.
Never happened.
Those foods aren't nasty to some. Changing the labels was caving to the "woke" at the time.
If you liked the new CB logo, fine, but apparently Millions didn't and now the company is changing it back, which shouldn't trigger anyone really since the original logo wasn't hurting anyone.
Nobody was triggered, whatever that means.

No. Those logos were considered offensive by some and were removed.

Quite frankly, NONE of this is a real issue.

Things change.

It's inevitable.

We have bigger fish to fry, quite frankly.

Mmmm, Texas Roadhouse. Much superior to Cracker Barrel. From my experience ;)

Bring back the old logos!
