• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Could anyone tell me if this is true?

So in you opinion is it ok to enslave an evil human?

Not at all. If one accepted a slave, he should love his slave as much as he could. A slave is more precious than gold. A slave is your property, but is also your heavy burden.

If your not a Christian then you are a slave to sin. The physical is an object lesson to teach people what is going on in the Spiritual. To live in the flesh according to the old nature is bondage. To be born again and live in the Spirit is freedom. Abraham's Child with Sarah his wife was the free child. Abraham's child with Hagar his wife's handmaiden was the flesh and the child of bondage. The flesh and the spirit battle. To this day the Hebrew Children battle against the descendants of Ishmael that formed the Arab and Muslim nations.
I don't accept this.

If your an atheist then that means by definition that you reject theism and that you are not born again of the Spirit of God. So how could you even know what Theism is and what it means to be born again of the Holy Spirit of God? That is why Jesus was made flesh and dwelt among us. Otherwise people could say that God could not judge us in fairness because He does not know what it is like to be human. Now we go before the Judgement Throne of Christ. Only those who reject Jesus go before the Judgement Throne of God.

Heb 2:18 Jesus Made Like His Brothers
17Therefore, He had to be made like His brethren in all things, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. 18For since He Himself was tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted.

If your not longer a Christian then you will go before the judgement throne of God. I have heard of people their whole life will flash before them in a moment of time. Our whole life here is just a moment in eternity. In a moment of time you can gain more understanding of science then you can here during your whole lifetime.

You do not believe there is any sort of a judgement for the way people live their lives? They can just do whatever they want without any fear or worry of having to deal with the consequences? Even more do you believe when you die that all your memory will be lost and in a few generations it will be the same as if you never lived and never existed? So that everything we do and everything we gain in the end all amounts to nothing?

But if your slave wants to quit and go work for someone else, what is your reply?

If you say sure, I have to let you do that its the only moral thing to do, you aren't holding the person in slavery.

If you say no, I will not let you go, you must remain in my service, you have no choice, the person is your slave and your love for the slave is shown to be a sham.

Or maybe akin to your love for apple pie. Very sincere, but kind of hard on the apple pie.

Society has set up consequences for bad behavior, no need for a God to do so.

Humans have evolved to live in societies, where they need to be accepted and it aids survival. Going around harming others, usually doesn't go over well.

Folks can, and do, believe what they want. Just curious why atheists are attempting to convert Christians.

Why wouldn't they? Its a perfectly normal human thing to do, to try to persuade others to agree with you. You talk as if that was a sin.

Yes, actions have consequences.

They can just do whatever they want without any fear or worry of having to deal with the consequences?

See above.

Even more do you believe when you die that all your memory will be lost and in a few generations it will be the same as if you never lived and never existed?

Do you have any memories of your great grandfather?

So that everything we do and everything we gain in the end all amounts to nothing?

Which is all the more reason to live life to the fullest while we're here.

It's a sin to deny Jesus Christ as the Son of God. That's the biblical definition of anti-Christ.

Why would someone wish to promote an anti-Christ viewpoint and attempt to convert others to it?

Slavery is a social system. A system has rules. So, if a slave rebelled, then he should be punished. Love is one thing. Justice is another thing. This principle applies to any human relationships.

To be a slave, the first thing to have in his mind is: loyalty.
