I never said I was a sinner. I've been made free from the penalty of sin. But like you, I still fall short of perfection. Falling short of God's perfect standard is what sin is. My identity is as a Saint in Christ. But that doesn't mean I'm without failings. And those failings, however small, miss the mark of God's perfect standard. In that sense, I still "sin."
Hebrews 10:14 "For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified(made Holy)." Read Hebrews 10:10 to see who he sanctified(ALL).
Here's a sin God hates:
Arrogant (haughty) eyes: This describes a feeling of pride and looking down upon others. Even a hint of this sort of thing is sinful. We ought not to think more highly of ourselves. A humble spirit is honoring to God.
If you look at others as being better than you or less than you is when you commit sin(James 2:9). Remember God created all men equal?
Here's another:
A man who stirs up dissension among brothers: Brothers are created by God to live in unity (
Psalm 133:1;
1 Thessalonians 4:9).
We are in unity of the faith, which is love.
I see this sort of thing happening a lot from professing Christians. We are going to disagree on certain matters. It's how we disagree that matters.
What you call a professing Christian if they commit sin are not Christians for they have never seen or known Christ(1 John 3:6). They are of the devil(1 John 3:8). God does not hear them(John 9:31), are ungodly(Jude 1:15).
I'll leave you with this: I John 1:8 "If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us." John is writing to Christians.
