When the war began, PS2 dominated the playing field as its only competitors were N64 and Dreamcast. Now, in whatever year this is, we see before us the new war going on.

In 2001 (I believe), Xbox and Gamecube stepped forth from their crazy cages and raged onto the battlefield. It was easy to see PS2 was doing very well, but the other two came in strong with pilot titles like Halo and Mario Kart. Despite, PS2 had a number of popular franchises to its name for back up.

As time moved on, it seemd Xbox would fall behind along with the rather unpopular Gamecube. But boosts of speed came up as Xbox and Gamecube came out with better and better games and PS2 started to run out of games to sequel again and again.

The trump card has been revealed: Online play. Xbox got this blessing and ran right up there. The Xbox Live system is much superior to PS2s and faaaarther reaching that Gamecube's. Xbox also has many more games than any other for online play. Online play has always been the envy of consoles as PCs only had it. That is all changed now.

So who do you think will win this undoubtedly never ending war? PS2? Xbox? Or Gamecube?

They will all die out when the newgens get here. Then I am going to have to say Xbox and PS3 will be the main newgens, unless Nintendo pulls something great off with the revolution.

Well duh, of course it is. My favorite system and it has my favorite game on it (Super Mario World). However, since it's no longer manufactured (or at the very least not sold in most stores as a new system), it doesn't count as being apart of the war. Consider it...in the hall of fame.

The greatest was and is the Sega Genisis and Eternal Champions and Streets of Rage. I thought that Sega beat Nintendo with content, but not marketing. Well, that me anyway.

I think Xbox will be number 1 without a doubt, it has way too much going for it right now. Xbox Live is not just online capability, but Microsoft has made it into a comunity. As long as Microsoft takes care and supports the comunity, it will last multiple generations, just like in real life. Xbox has staying power that will continue into the next gen systems, where xbox2 will wear a crown. It won't matter who has the machine power, but who has a established comunity, cause we are creatures of comfort.

PS2 does sell better, but I prefer my Xbox. Nintendo really has dug a hole to come out of. I would not be surprised to see Sega jump back in at some point.

PS2 originally sold better, but lately... XBox is the one everyone wants!! Not sure if it's the stupidity of Sony falling behind at Christmas or not, but all I know is that out of every 10 customers I have, only 2 want a PS2 and 8 want an XBox...

Well we really know absolutely nothing about the new consoles. It really depends on alot of factors that we do not yet know. Only time will tell.

I agree with everything said in this post, SNES rocks and Super Mario World is one of the best games of all time.

PS2 without a doubt right now. Xbox can't compete with their game selection, although, they are doing better. I don't know why people like Xbox (oh wait, Halo and....um, what else?) so much.

Not at all. It's your opinon after all. Being rude would be an unwelcomed opinon, and this is a public forum after all. To be honest I don't see what's so great about PS2. I suppose it just has senority over the others.
