  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

consider this........

What you need to do is get off of your highhorse. Abortions are a terrible practice, especially late-term abortions, but they are legal. Granted, abortions are used more as a birth control than the health of the woman being at stake. What we need to do, instead of complaining, is to pray to the Lord to help us with this. We need to speak to all who seek abortions, and let them know the importance and value of life. Show them the love of Jesus. If they fail to heed the word, we let them go, and we still love them. We do not condemn them, as if we are any better. We committ sins everyday as Christians, some more than others, and yet we still look down upon the unbelieving world. We need to look at them, serve them, show them that the true path is love and redemption through our Savior Jesus Christ. Only then, will we actually begin to make a real difference. Until we unite in Christ, we will continue to be scowled and spit upon by the world, no matter what good we may try.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news here, but Jesus was despised, and so shall we also be, until His second coming.

Isaiah 53:3, "He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not."

Jesus says, "
If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you." (John 15:18-19)

Jesus says,
"Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world -- the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life -- is not of the Father, but is of the world." (I John 2:15-16)

Abortion is abhorred, but a guy coming back to life after dying about 2000 years ago? Well that's just everyday stuff, pff no biggie...

Non-Christians will, on a whole, agree; if someone is considering abortion, something's going on that should be discussed with the woman - but the right to abortion is a personal decision, ultimately, between a woman and her conscience (however it manifests itself). No law holds domain over privacy, except those futile few that have everything to do with what Christians seem to want out of and over their fellow countrymen - control.

Who burned the library at Alexandria? Case in point.

Arent you leaving a few people out of the equation? Like the unborn child, and the child's father?

So, it's ok if I choose to kick my dog, and abuse my kids and wife? Or shoot myself? That's my private business, right? No laws should have domain over it?

Go to an abortuary and stand outside and pray for a couple of hours. That'll change your mind real quick. it's really sad when you see the "dad" drive by and literally dump the "mom" off at the front door and take off.
Or
"grandma" comes walking over with her "daughter and her grandchild in womb" child is in tears ...scared out of her wits.
it breaks my heart everytime I go there.

I realize that in many case it is the "dad" who is pushing the abortion.
All the more reason to disagree with those who say it's just the woman's decision. I doubt it's often a simple, easy decison. It's a choice to take a life, no matter who makes the choice.

BTW, I agree with christianmarine that we need to pray, and to treat all the victim's with love-but we need to take a stand and call it what it is, too.

It's also legal to kill in self-defence of your person or property. I wouldn't call an armed robber/mugger/rapist whatever weak or defenseless.

Just another appeal to emotion in the abortion debate.

The most effictive way of reducing the number of abortions is to increase sex education and increase access to contraception.

I'm quite positive it would.

Are you aware of the history of the contraceptives? Look up Margaret Sanger.

I know of a woman who was an assistant at a planned parenthood, she told me some horror stories. She was eager to make money and every abortion she brought in brought her 250.00 at that time. She went to the schools and befriended teenagers and urged them to use contraceptives. #1. She knew that the average teen would not take the pill at the same time everyday and would miss (forget) to take a dose here and there which would result in pregnancy, and when they came to her for help she would reccomend an abortion. $$$chching chaching. Also she handed out condoms, knowing that they were not fullproof. cha ching cha ching.:yum:

We need to educate our children to be celebate and to save themselves for marriage. Sex should not be something to give away but to treasure.
  :sorry:

I agree we need to teach kids to save themselves for marriage and teach them that abortion is not the answer.Abortion should not be used as some sort of birth control. If they are not ready for a child give it up to adoption its free and you will not murder your own child.God Bless :)

I agree that it is a good idea to encourage younger people to wait before having sex. Waiting until marriage is a nice idea too. However, I don't think you can expect this of all people because all people are not the same. People do stupid things and make mistakes. I will never, ever judge someone that is put into the situation where they might have to have an abortion. It is not an easy decision and not one they take lightly. Early term abortions, to me, are not killing anything; if it doesn't have a brain, it isn't really a "person" as we know the term. When it's got a brain, then I am all for banning its abortion.
