CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Interesting! One thing I have noticed in the sheltered church is the failure to incorporate into prophetic thinking the terrible plagues of human suffering over the past 2000 years, assuming they can't compare with the end time. But yes they can compare, at least on the personal level. These bodies that we are housed in can only endure so much, and the endurance with suffering at end time applies to the age.
I believe that the best way to handle Revelation is to be as uncluttered as possible--get to the meat of the matter, so to speak. And the restraints could give us a clue to the sequence of events so ofter argued.

Most likely, the pattern that causes desolations was generally understood. It begins with a recognized authority, challenged by war that is identified with the second horse, resulting in food shortages and starvation, plagues of the 4th horse follow which kill far more than the war itself. Application: the world rejects the Prince of Peace, desolations follow—and the world kills the missionaries of the Gospel. The fifth seal reveals the martyred waiting in heaven. Tradition records that all the Apostles, except John, died a martyr’s death; and they are not alone.
