it is true that CT is a dead state when refering to christianity..or so it seems.

My contention is that CT is a state where Christians are afraid to speak out and say "I AM A CHRISTIAN AND I LOVE GOD" in other areas of the country, it is more acceptable to do tell others that you are a Christian. I was in Tennessee on vacation and I was in a Walmart. I was waiting in line and a man was standing behind me. A woman was behind that man and she had a toddler. she thought she heard him say a swear and she asked him to refrain from doing so in front of her child. He stated to her that he was a Christian and that he would never do that and then he apologized.

That sort of thing would never happen here because the word Christian is poison on the tongue to many of us because we fear that we will be stereotyped or pre judged to be a abortion clinic bombing maniac who will try and convince everyone to join our group.

One time I was in a class for my BA (Central Connecticut State University) and a kid was telling me how he is a member of a forum about music. I told him I was a Moderator on a forum and when I he asked me what kind of forum, I told him that is was a Christian forum. every person in the room looked at me as if I had just lit my head on fire.

We in CT need to be proud of who we are and tell everyone around that we believe in Jesus Christ and they should to. I think you will be suprised to see how many Christians come out of the wood works but havnt in the past because they felt THEY were the only ones to.

Hi all,

I live in SE CT near the RI border -- Stonington to be exact. Guess what else? I'm a Catholic Christian and PROUD OF IT! I will agree with the general consensus that CT is Liberalville, USA with covert Christians hiding here and there!

I am a transplant to New England from Florida and a convert from Protestantism to Catholicism. How's that for unique!

How to warm up? Stay here awhile. It takes a few years... staying inside all winter helps too.

Hello all,

I am a ct native that is now living in ME. You all have hit the nail on the head. There is a definite anti Christian mentality in ct, almost like it is uncool to be Christian, but hey they are outside the loop, because we now what is really up.
Leiko, I see you are from Danbury, have you ever been to Calvary Church in Danbury?
Job you want a good restaurant, there is a good Japanese place in Avon, I cant remember the name of it though.
There is a good Thai place in West Hartford called Lemongrass.
There is a good Korean place in East Hartford called Seoul Tokyo, for Indian food go to Glastonbury to a place called Ambassador of India.
I love Olive Garden for Italian. As you can see I like Asian food.
If I remember right Job you said you live in Manchester so I was giving you the names of places in the Hartford area.
