Are these some of the people that also believe that the insurrectionists were just tourists doing tourist things?

Over 2000 police officers wounded or killed in 2020 BLM riots.
Jaw-Dropping: Police Chief Association Releases Number of Officers Injured During Violent Riots

"One agency reported 50 officers being injured in a single week of protests. Another agency reported that 462 of their officers were injured during the protests in their jurisdiction."

Well I for one am glad congress is slowly coming around in 2021 to the other side, instead of their 2020 defund the police and "demonstrations gotta be violent if you want to make a difference" attitude in 2020.

Interesting that while far-right terrorists killed police officers in those events, in order to blame the protesters:

Far-Right Gang Killed Cop In Plot To Blame 2020 Protest Violence On 'Leftists'
Despite the widespread media narrative blaming Black Lives Matter and antifascist activists for last summer's protest violence, there were plenty of suspicions that far-right extremists seeking to intensify the public's fear of the "violent left" were in fact responsible for a significant amount of it. These suspicions were fed by such incidents as the assassination of a federal officer in Oakland by two far-right "Boogaloo Bois" and the arrest of another "Boogaloo" enthusiast from Texas for attacking a police station in Minneapolis.

Now we know, thanks to federal prosecutors investigating the Oakland incident, that in fact it was not the act of a single "lone wolf" and his accomplice, but rather part of a larger plot by group of far-right extremists who called themselves the "Grizzly Scouts" and planned a series of deadly attacks on law-enforcement officers with the intent of making it appear to be the work of the "violent left."
    https://www.nationalmemo.com/boogaloo-boys

The protestors themselves were protecting police and reporting violent people:

A group of protesters formed a human chain around a lone police officer after he got separated from his unit.

Pictures from the protest show several black men linking their arms to shield the white officer from a hostile crowd in Louisville, Kentucky.

FBI: Far-Right Extremist Posed As BLM Protester, Fired On Minneapolis Police Precinct

The alleged gunman, a member of the Boogaloo Bois, shouted “Justice for Floyd” and helped set the building on fire, according to a federal complaint.

A member of the far-right anti-government Boogaloo Bois has been charged with opening fire on a Minneapolis police precinct while pretending to be a Black Lives Matter protester, according to the federal complaint against him.

There's a lot more of that. Do you need to see more?

Some in congress were doing that...

Senator Josh Hawley fist-pumps in solidarity with the pro-Trump terrorists who attacked the Capitol.

Fox News: House Republicans Voted to Defund the Police
This morning on Fox News Sunday, Chris Wallace called out House Republicans for voting unanimously to defund the police.

Wallace: You voted against that package, against that $350 billion just like every other Republican in the House and Senate. So, can't you make the argument that it's you and the Republicans who are defunding the police?…I'm asking you, there's $350 billion in this package the President says can be used for policing...The President is saying cities and states can use this money to hire more police officers, invest in new technologies, and develop summer job training and recreation programs for young people...You and every other Republican voted against this $350 billion.

While Joe Biden rejected out of hand the idea of defunding the police, congressional republicans were all for it as reported on Fox News:

Oh, yes, more political grandstanding. So brave stopping a nonviolent crowd violently. How about they release the name of the officer who shot Babbit in a case of police brutality like that of the George Floyd case, lol.

Oh, yeah, spin the insurrection propaganda some more while Americans are denied due process for protesting.

Hawley probably thought it wouldn't come back to bite him. But it has. He's the poster boy for the insurrection.

Let's take a look at those "nonviolent" insurrectionists:
If Floyd had been part of a mob of terrorists trying to break into a police station, and not a helpless and handcuffed prisoner being slowly killed by one of his captors.

Their story is that Donald Trump authorized them to attack the Capitol. And he certainly did tell them to go there and "fight like hell." Which they did.

They're all getting their day in court. Something Floyd never got.

I think majority of the police could use some acknowledgement and medals for what they do in all kinds of circumstances. Goodness knows we have had all kinds of ugly things in happen in which the police have been targeted. I'm happy for those officers involved at the Capital, but I know even they could acknowledge there are plenty of other officers throughout the USA that deserve the same.

Yes. There are police who have been murdered by far-right terrorists, police who have faced mobs and acted with restraint while enforcing the law, and those who have been injured by those terrorists just as the police at the Capitol were.

The Capitol police were preventing a Trump-ordered coup, and thereby did a great service to America. But every cop on the street who handled himself professionally and bravely, deserves our thanks and recognition.

    Well, let's take a look...

Capitol rioters say Trump told them to do it
Multiple people who stormed the Capitol have claimed they did so on the instructions of President Donald Trump

    ...
Leonard M. Niehoff, a First Amendment expert, said that the response to Trump's direct call for supporters to visit the Capitol and "fight" meant the president could be liable.
Capitol rioters say Trump told them to do it, which some legal experts say could open him to criminal charges

    • "Just say that the election was corrupt + leave the rest to me and the R. Congressmen," Trump instructed the DOJ officials, according to notes taken by then-Acting Deputy Attorney General Richard Donoghue.
    • The handwritten notes, released by the House Oversight Committee, were taken by Donoghue during a Dec. 27 phone call with Trump and then-acting Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen.

Oath Keepers Learn the Hard Way: Don’t Plan an Insurrection on Facebook
But the FBI used that public Facebook information to obtain a warrant for Crowl on January 17. Watkins and Crowl turned themselves into Urbana, OH police that day, where the FBI took them into custody.

On January 13, the Guardian did a story on Watkins’ use of Zello.

“We are in the main dome right now,” said a female militia member, speaking on Zello, her voice competing with the cacophony of a clash with Capitol police. “We are rocking it. They’re throwing grenades, they’re(bleep) shooting people with paintballs, but we’re in here.”

“God bless and godspeed. Keep going,” said a male voice from a quiet environment.

“Jess, do your (bleep),” said another. “This is what we (bleep) lived up for. Everything we (bleep) trained for.”

The frenzied exchange took place at 2.44pm in a public Zello channel called “STOP THE STEAL J6”, where Trump supporters at home and in Washington DC discussed the riot as it unfolded. Dynamic group conversations like this exemplify why Zello, a smartphone and PC app, has become popular among militias, which have long fetishized military-like communication on analog radio.

On January 19, the government obtained an amended conspiracy complaint against Watkins, Crowl, and Caldwell. It included the following new information:

    • Quotations from the Zello messaging
    • Facebook messaging from Caldwell pictured standing outside the riot calling everyone in Congress a traitor
    • Facebook messages showing planning between Watkins, Crowl, and Caldwell between December 24 and January 8
    • Instructions for making plastic explosives found at Watkins’ house

Of particular interest, the complaint included the first hint that the Oath Keepers had intelligence — shared using Facebook — about the movements of Members of Congress.

Must be part of that "scant" evidence that the FBI has for a planned insurrection. I'm guessing the evidence is less "scant" today than yesterday before some more of the perps were arrested.

Oath Keepers: How a militia group mobilized in plain sight for the assault on the Capitol
Loewinger, a WNYC radio reporter, started working with the online extremist research group militia-watch
    ...
That they were using Zello to plan their travel to Washington D.C. That they were going to have separate channels for people gathering intel and separate channels for boots on the ground.

Micah Loewinger: It wasn't until a couple days later that I started to realize how much planning must have gone into this event.
    ...
Jess Watkins on Zello, January 6: We have a good group. We've got about 30, 40 of us. We're sticking together and sticking to the plan.
    ...
Stewart Rhodes on "Infowars": We have men already stationed outside D.C. as a nuclear option in case they attempt to remove the president illegally. We will step in and stop it....The fight's coming.
Oath Keepers: How a militia group mobilized in plain sight for the assault on the Capitol

In the fallout from the planned insurrection, a number of chapters of Oath Keepers have withdrawn from the organization in protest of the attempted coup by terrorists in their midst. Virginia and North Carolina chapters bailed before planned insurrection, and the leader of largest chapter, Arizona had harsh words for the terrorists:

Jim Arroyo: I wanna congratulate Stewart Rhodes and his ten militia buddies for winning first place in the ultimate dumb(bleep) contest, 'cause that's what it was. ...It was pre-planned. It was pre-staged.
    ...
Mike Rice: How are you gonna take an oath to defend the Constitution and then try to disturb a session of Congress during what's supposed to be one of our most precious political things, you know, the transfer of power? How are you gonna do that?

    ...
Jim Arroyo: We have made multiple attempts through national. My honest opinion is if there's any honor left in this organization at the upper levels, they will deal with it.
Oath Keepers: How a militia group mobilized in plain sight for the assault on the Capitol

My emphasis. Arroyo, remember, is president of the largest chapter of Oath Keepers. Go and check it out. It's disturbing, but you need to see it.

Exclusive-FBI finds scant evidence U.S. Capitol attack was coordinated-sources

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The FBI has found scant evidence that the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol was the result of an organized plot to overturn the presidential election result, according to four current and former law enforcement officials.

Though federal officials have arrested more than 570 alleged participants, the FBI at this point believes the violence was not centrally coordinated by far-right groups or prominent supporters of then-President Donald Trump, according to the sources, who have been either directly involved in or briefed regularly on the wide-ranging investigations."

    From your link...

"Ninety to ninety-five percent of these are one-off cases," said a former senior law enforcement official with knowledge of the investigation. "Then you have five percent, maybe, of these militia groups that were more closely organized."

    Hmm...
Oath Keeper militants planned out their attack at the Capitol, even holding trainings in the weeks before, and looked to Trump for direction
The Oath Keepers extensively planned their presence at the January 6 insurrection, court documents show.
At least 30 members of the extremist group were present at the Capitol siege, prosecutors say.
Messages from militia members show how they looked at Trump's direction for how to act that day.

Oath Keeper militants planned out their attack at the Capitol, even holding trainings in the weeks before, and looked to Trump for direction

That, according to FBI investigations, but accessible to others monitoring extremist content on social media. So the FBI figures only 1 in 20 of the insurrectionists was actually in on the planning for the attack. Which, is, I suppose why they call it "scant."

False, but nice try! The election wasn't stolen except in the imaginations of Trump, the GOP members that think he walks on water and his hoodwinked fan base.
