  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Congratulations America!

I don't think it is too early to say well done on making the 'right' choice tonight.

It's fair to say the anti-American feeling has been growing over the past few years, but your decision today will most likely put the breaks on all that and a lot of faith will be restored in regards to the intelligence of the average American voter. I think this alone will bring you more good will internationally then any other regime could have hoped for, and even for the most ardent McCain or republican fan, you'd have to admit this is a good thing.

So well done America.

And just for you, PcF:

I'm off to bed in a minute, I hope I don't wake up tomorrow and find I've been too presumptuous, but what the hell! ^_^

I'm really excited about the potential that this means for the country. Barack is really inspiring, and not only able to cross party lines, but also racial lines. I think that it will be very affirming for black people, it will mean a much more stable economy, it will mean a president that you really feel inspired to have lead, trust, and believe, the end of this terrible war, and who knows what else.

It's a really exciting time to be alive.

I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. JFK wasn't. MLK wasn't. Malcolm X wasn't.

I understand your doubt, having people like Nixon and Watergate, Reagan and Iran Contra, the CIA proven to have ordered cocaine into the US in 19991, and some of the evidence for 9/11 that makes someone question what really happened.

However, he inspires me. I watched the Infomercial, I've listened to his wife, I think he is the real deal, and for you, he will have to prove you wrong. Hopefully, he will.

I knew this day would come, but surprised that it happened so soon.

Wasn't just another politician. You think JFK was just another politician??? Really???
Um ...yeah.
From over here he didn't come off as being particularly special.

However on Obama... someone said somewhere that how any British person having just experienced a decade of blairism could possibly want American to have to go through the same thing - I can only agree. Obama strikes me as a Blair. He's trying to come over young and hip and all for "change and modernisation" - but be careful with that... it doesn't always work out the way you expect. I despair for my country after the wholesale destruction wrought on it by NuLab - I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

I hope it's not presumptuous either:) I'm about to go to bed myself, early for me but I can't stand watching the numbers slowly come in.

Back in 2004 Americans by the hundreds apologized for re-electing Bush now that his horrendous administration is coming to an end hopefully we've learned from the mistakes and can look forward to something better. Poor Obama.. it's quite a mess to take on.

I'm just sorry that amid all the hoped for change the idiots in Florida, Arkansas and Arizona seem intent on continuing discrimination against gay folks. (Hopefully California prevails)

never made it to bed cause hubby reaching in with a champagne glass.. just as I was about to shower and get in pj's
so now we're celebrating here watching McCain give it up.

Propaganda politics these people know well. They know a Neville Chamberlain when they see one. Their hoping appeasement will work this time. Take a look at Londonistan. The doomed of history rounders.

Obama is my president like Nebuchadnezzar was Daniel's King. I had no hand in the guy gaining power and I'll have no part in supporting his horrors.

Horrors? Like marginally higher taxes and not invading every country we can find on a map?

I mean horrors. The crowd gathered around him are from a city that has had over 400 school children gunned down in the very place this guy did his community organizing.

King Bera he is.

Yep.

Other than being shot, what did he do that was so great? Nothing much. But I can cite you a huge list of stuff he did that you probably wouldn't approve of.

Note to any would be Obama Assassins... premature death for a politician or celebrity appears to be the best way to make them go down in history as "the greatest ever", granting them instant myth status, regardless of any actual ability or achievment they may have. Diana. James Dean, both Kennedies...

So I hope that my misguided fellow conservatives will let Obama attain a ripe old age, and prove for himself what we've been saying all along.

Still, on the plus side, I guess the good news is that that wing nut Palin isn't going to get to slip intop the oval office anytime soon.

Um... I wouldn't vote for Obama in a pink fit... however I see no reason to engage inb wierd ad hominems against him when his politics is all that is needed to condemn him.

How is 400 school shootings in Chicago (source?) Obama's fault, exactly?

All the whiners, well hey I still love you. I'm afraid though I'm too happy for that pettiness to bother me .

This is one atheist who HAS been in a foxhole, who cannot express his joy.

I've said before I don't think Obama is a man who will wave a magic wand and poof no more problems!

Instead I see him as a President who because so many of the people of this country are inspired will do the work, and that's a big difference.
