Confused about being saved...

As for baptism needed for salvation? Personally I don't see in scripture that that is the case. It is an important step in obedience to Him, and it helps put your mind at ease, that is why it exists, which is also why infant baptism isn't the right way, people tend to forget that the covenant we become part of in Christ is one that we enter through faith, and not through birth. Besides adding baptism to our salvation means we start believing in works based salvation, and scripture is clear that salvation is only through Faith, not through works so no man can boast.
