I agree, NYJ. And who says that confession times should be convenient? They should be accessible, yes. But convenient? It is I who must make the effort. I doubt that the Prodgial Son had a fast trip back to his father. He had to hike a bit, sacrifice, and make the effort. The Church and her priests are here to serve us, yes, but her job is not to make things convenient. Convenience (like democracy) is an American ideal, not a Catholic one.nyj said:If I have ever had the urge to seek Confession outside of saturday at the regular hours, I've never been turned away. Part of the problem is... people don't think they have anything to be sorry for.
The reason I started this thread was because I went to confession this evening and really experienced the freedom of the Sacrament. I confessed things that I was truly sorry for, and when I heard those coveted words, "I absolve you from all of your sins in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit", I could almost hear the heavenly hosts rejoicing. Christ's blood truly covered me today. Praised be Jesus Christ now and forever!

By the time you read this, you'll be ALL CLEAN and rocking again. I think that could be the title for one of PeterPaul's new books: Confession - washing souls for almost 2000 years.
