Concerts!!!

I'll be seeing Kamelot with Edguy this Friday. This will be my fourth time seeing Kamelot and first time seeing Edguy so it will be a great time.

mmm JUST got back from a mest and quietdrive concert. ahh. it rocked my socks. i danced my face off. literally. my makeup was down to my chin by the time i got out. i'm soooo tired now, yet i can't sleep. haaa. ears are ringing like mad too.

You learn the industry, work your way up the ladder... Most arenas will hire overhire. You won't get much work for a while, maybe one or two shows a month depending on how much they need you. After a while, if they think you're a good worker they will call you more. At first you'll probably be a box pusher, moving boxes from the truck to the staging area and back all day. Eventually they will put you on another crew to work on the set builds (or if they need the people, they will put you on the first day) and eventually on to show calls where you will work during the show on specific things like running spotlights or moving things on and off deck. It's a lot of hard work and there is no glamour to it. You don't hang out with rock stars and more often than not you are on the clock between 16 - 24 hours.

Future concerts include: Avenged Sevenfold, Shiny Toy Guns, Static X (for the 4324546th time), maybe the Roots, Tom Petty, NonPoint... and possibly GWAR for Halloween
