  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I used to to go to local shows all the time when I lived in MD/DC. As for large concerts, most of those have been courtesy of the Army. I saw Tonic while I was in boot camp. I saw Quiet Riot and Vince Neil this past summer while I was in Wisconsin for training, and I've seen Yellowcard and Third Day on USO tours over here. I saw the Vandals when I was over here in 2004.

Best concert I've been to: Flogging Molly, hands down.

The best for me was seeing The Who on July 4th 2002 just a few days after John Entwistle passed away. It was a great show and tribute to a legend. Zac Starkey (Ringo's son) was behind the drums that evening and when the concert ended and the fireworks started up you could just feel a power in the atmosphere. I thought it was just me being nostalgic but even my daughter, who was still in high school at the time and wasn't a huge fan, will point to this as her best concert experience to date.

OH YEAH! CONCERTS!!! My favorite pastime. I guess it was all the clubbing on the Sunset Strip that got me addicted to concerts. I mostly go to clubs since most of the bands I listen to are not that popular here in the states, but I love the bigger shows. Nothing beats a KISS or Rolling Stones show. Those guy don't just stand there like the Eagles or The Police. Ugh! Why oh why everyone went nuts for that reunion??? Boring! I have more fun listening to those guys while shooting pool or playing cards. To me a concert should be pure entertainment. A "thank you" to their fans. Motley Crue, Poison, Rob Zombie, Iron Maiden. Those guys know how to entertain!

I just got threw a Dream Theater and a Maiden concert... that's just this year! I missed Bon Jovi, unfortunately. The first month and a bit of 2008 have been insane for concerts in Tokyo.
how good are Dream Theater live!!! i couldnt believe how accurate they all are.. true professionals who do it for the love of music not money. :)

I saw a few concerts this year but not nearly as many as would have liked. I did get to the Bay Area Rock Festival end of June to catch Jeff Scott Soto ,Eric Martin and Zero Hour and they were pretty much worth the wait and heat.
The shows for me are all coming up- the 3rd Journey, and then both in Dec but seperately of course AC/DC and the one I've been waiting for Metallica 12/20. They've got me with thumbs up because of this new cd.

I don't have anything coming up either. I wanted to see Trans-Siberian Orchestra if they rolled through the area. If I decide I do want to see them, I'd have to take a trip down to Indianapolis. The past few years they've hit Fort Wayne, which is a lot more convenient.

I have been to a few concerts ... My first was back December of 2004 ... I got to see Bowling for Soup, Ryan Cabrera, Chingy, Simple Plan and Kelly Clarkson (who I wanted to see the most :D). My next was two years ago, was Kelly Clarkson on her Addicted Summer Tour, amazing show! I'll never forget it! ... Next was last summer and it was Taylor Hicks (at a county fair) ... Myself and my friend that invited me, met him (didn't get any photos with him because there were a lot of fans there, so he just signed autographs). Latest one was back in March for Winter Jam 2008 ... I loved that show! :D ... Myself and two friends of mine stood in line for like at least an hour to meet Skillet and we did :D ... Again, no photos because there was a huge line. And, my next one is next Thursday ... Kelly Clarkson and Reba McEntire for the second leg of their Two Worlds, Two Voice's tour. :D ... I'm so excited! :) I'm sure that everyone can tell who my favoite singer is. :p ... She's amazing! :) :D
