Untamed feral kittens simply turn their nose up at sweetness until you show them who is the boss. Only after they understand who the boss is do they respond to sweetness in kind. It immediately struck me as a parallel to male/female relations.

Which may be true if women were feral cats(which they aren't) so I'm a little confused how this story applies?

Eve didn't merely 'give' the fruit to Adam, she had to convince him to eat of it. This is revealed by God when He said to Adam, "Because you have hearkened unto (the nagging, pleading, threats, of) your wife......"

Interesting - there's no mention of nagging in the notes in my Stone's Chumash - rather the notes for this verse indicate that Adam chose not to investigate the assertions of his wife and instead ignored God's prohibition. Hmmm....

The difference in how the Christian man and the Christian woman are influenced to fall, is interesting.

I think the Christian man is influenced to fall via abstract thinking....most of the time.

I am hardly arguing that all men are superior to all women, that would be a foolish position to hold. However, the Bible makes it very clear that women are the weaker sex. Science fully confirms this.

I was of course referring to matters of authority and not dress code.

Let me make it clear, I think that a good woman should get her way 90% of the time in a healthy relationship. Pick up your clothes, clean the crumbs, take out the trash, etc... Men just don't care that much about these minor issues, but we are happy to live in a beautiful surrounding and happily comply on all of these minor matters.

However, that 10% where men get there way in healthy relationships is concerning the big matters. Men's minds are not nearly as encumbered by animal instincts and emotions as women's minds are, and so all world religions, especially Christianity, invest final authority in men, not women. That is why most denominations of Christianity and Judaism do not allow women to become priests or rabbis.

I don't like to answer questions that use words like "equal," "equality," or "equally." They are more or less modern words that are difficult to discern their exact meaning, and the Scriptures do not speak much concerning this modern obsession with equality.

Most insightful indeed, Mr. ArcticFox! Femi-Nazis make a big deal out of equality, and hate religion because it gives no credence to equality of gender. In turn, the religious women of my family hated feminists and considered them an extremely demoralizing influence on the world. I tend to have a lot of sympathy for certain feminist causes, but the overall philosophy they espouse is something I do not agree with at all.
