I want yall to know that I just had a surreal, positive experience with Shine on You Crazy Diamond. It's the first time I've progressed to that level of involvement with Pink Floyd's style other than enjoying their poetry. My mind is opening...welcome to the machine?

Not a highjack at all, Uncle Clem. I guess the topic is mind-expansion to allow in new experiences. I don't know if I'm ready to let in The Dead though! I'm into gradual plate techtonical shifts in my cranium, and you just introduced the Jaws of Life. But I'll not panic, I trust that all will occur in due time, without trauma. Shine On will be the bridge, and time will be the gentle motivator.

Comfortably Numb has that very surreal quality to it, also. So does Wish You Were Here.

"Comfortably Numb" carried a couple of us during difficult times in our lives, but I've found "Wish You Were Here" to be a song that always pops up when I'm, well, wishing... and when I hear it, I always wish the song would never end.

I know I'm only 19, but "Wish You Were Here" tends to put me in a very nostalgic mood. And the outro guitar solo in "Comfortably Numb" gives me the chills about every time.

I'm hopelessly addicted to the ABB At Fillmore East (live) version of "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed," and have been for over 30 years.

I'll have to check out the Shine On composition; I don't think I've ever heard it (I was never a PF fan).
