Competition

I'd love to join in, but I'm working two jobs and don't have many existing photos that I can use for the comp. Is a month really too long? Two weeks would be fine with me, but I'll never make a one-week deadline.

Miss Mayberry...the competition is open to anyone. As long as you get your picture in before the deadline, you're in. And since no one has really agreed on a deadline at the moment...we don't know what the deadline is for this first competition.

I agree...more than once a month is overkill. You won't get as many people participating and it'll be difficult to keep up with.

But what about a new thread for this each month?

I presume that we're still using this thread for comments on the competition to try to keep the chatter down in the comp thread (not that I've stuck to that guideline anyway )

Is the point to take a picture of our city, or just take a picture in our city? I have plenty of pics which are technically in vancouver but show nothing of the city as a whole.

BTW: thanks Hako, this is kind of fun! I went out last night specifically to shoot pictures for the comp. I actually got heckled by passer-bys ("hey, take a picture of this!"), but I got a couple of interesting pictures so it's all worth it, right?

Why don't we put up a sticky with the subjects for the rest of the year. What do you think Mr Hako, less work for you and it can run on its own. Then whoever posts the first picture starts that month's thread.

Ha ha! I could have guessed you'd suggest that. But yeah, that sounds like good fun. I like the idea of taking a picture in basically one colour. It'll be very hard for me, but I like the challenge. Count me in.

I think most people here are honest. I don't think PhotoShop is against the rules as such, but maybe we ask people to disclose if and what they've doctored?

I think people here are honest too, it's just you never know these days who took what in a picture

But I really do like the idea of color (monochrome)
