Just purchased a few sets of Casein paint, this is my first little painting, trying out the medium. I posted a pencil drawing of this landscape a while back, second image.

I have seen Gurney use it, but not too familiar with it. Does it re-activate like gouache, or stay put more like watercolor?

Looks like it can go opaque or thin down?

Both of the finished pieces look very good, very smooth transitions.

Thank you, working on my modeling of various areas. There is the form modeling of shapes and then the background modeling of values. With not trying to develop any shape or form but to flatten out and push back that area.

He was where i was inspired, to give the medium a try.

I like it, it can be thinned down and used like a watercolor wash and painted full to thin body and opaque.

The color set out in the palette will reactivate but i have not had any problem. Of any color being disturbed when painting over a previous painted area of color.

It does dry lighter than the initial wet color that comes from the brush.

Very often I encounter the fact that the drawing at the beginning looks light, airy. And later this charm is lost. I needed to quickly finish this drawing, but the muse did not come to me and it turned out like this.
