• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Hi all:hug:

I see it's time to offer birthday wishes...Happy Birthday to Tracey Happy Birthday to you..It's time to have cake:tutu:

Nvrbloved. & Cp Hello & pull up a chair=]

Mask I hope you enjoy your camping. Yes it can get rather boring when one doesn't get opportunities to go out & enjoy fellowship.

TLB I have been doing some prayer counciling & am on med for the panic & anxiety.

Soulwings I did enjoy the fireworks & you probably know that the anticipatory panic is usually worse then the actual experience:p My baby is almost not a baby anymore, bcause she'll be 2 shortly. I can't believe that. Her name is Nicole. & she's watching a Sesame Street Video as I am typing this.
Wow I don't know when you catch a breath:eek: I hope you're taking the last of your time off to spoil & take care of yourself lady....

Gck is offering sweet iced tea for any takers. & on the table is her favorite peanut butter, oatmeal, chocolate chip cookies fresh from the oven=>

April - thanks for the birthday wishes, no special plans. I'm at work but my boss is away so I don't have to work that hard. Although I do enjoy my job so I don't mind working. My sister and her husband and my nephew are coming round for dinner.
I was put onto Espiride, two capsules a day and I was given something else to take for anxiety but only when I absolutely have to take something because its addictive.
I'm staying on Espiride but I'm also going to be taking a small dose of Cilift which should help the anxiety too.
I don't have an ulcer, its just extra acid caused by anxiety.

CyberPaladin - Hello and welcome! I hope we can give support when you need it. That's an interesting username, I'm assuming you're into computers?

GraceChick - thank you for the birthday wishes. Thanks for the cookies (biscuits as they're called in SA), they were delicious.

I'm having a pretty good day so far. Before my birthday I was given a bag and a jigsaw puzzle. The puzzle has a picture of a labrador with her puppies at a pond. Its a beautiful picture! I got the Happy Feet DVD today and mugs with my favourite Bible verse on Jeremiah 29:11.

Its my boss' birthday today as well but he's away. He's arranged and paid for the canteen to make lots of delicious sweet stuff so I'll be spoiled.

Hi everyone  , just popped in to check up on you all!

Welcome to CyberPaladin and Nvrbnunloved, nice to meet you both. Cyber, what kind of games do you like to play? How are you feeling now Nvrbunun? I hope things are going better for you today?

Sounds like you got some nice presents Tracey, cool  .

Gracechick...enjoy your little girl while you can...they grow up so fast! It's so hard sometimes for me to believe that our kids are 16 and 13  .

April, I would really have to step way out of my comfort zone to go volunteer somewhere! I did get a couple more books yesterday at the Library though. Nothing very exciting, just some personal finance stuff. That's what I need to focus on right now so it's all good!

Well I gotta go soon. Hubby should be home soon from work and we are gonna watch a movie (hopefully...they had it in). He is either going to get the Astronault Farmer or The Last Mimzy (something my son wants to watch??).

Have a great evening all!

Hi Mask, I hope those financial books help. I play a wide variety of game but mostly FPS, RPG, Survival Horror and stragety. Yesterday I finished playing Hitman Bloodmoney and today I think going to play Mercanries: Playground of Destruction, the other game I have been playing lately is Elder Scroll III.

I spent most of yesterday working on a free online class through an employment agency I'm registered with it was on cash flow statements.

/me serves up everyone with either a nice hot coffee or some refreshing ginger tea with orange juice. :yum:

I've not been in here for a bit... Amoeba and CyberPaladin, welcome, and I'm pleased to make your acquaintance!! :) I'm April.

Mask, it would take some stepping out of my comfort zone to volunteer as well, unless I'm doing it with a group of people that I know well. But it differs with different people - I have a friend who I think would go anywhere with anyone and still have a fantabulous time. Hehe. She's so bubbly, she gets annoying at times. :p Anyway... I think you should pick up a "fun" book too, besides the ones on personal finance. Just a thought ;-) but I think you'll burn yourself out with reading up on things that you need to know if you don't let yourself have some time to read up on what you want to know. :) Just my $0.02, though. How are things going now? and how's your summer going with your kids at home? still rowdy and crowded and loveable?

Tracey, I'm glad to hear that you've had a good birthday. :) It sounds nice and peaceful. Feel any older now? ;-) and have any plans for the upcoming weekend?

I've not been doing terribly well. Lots of crashes at night, much centered on weight and fat issues. I discovered that I lost 19.4% of my original weight when I was at my sickest, which means that I qualified for the DSM-IV's diagnosis of anorexia nervosa minus the amenoerrhea. Which is why I'm EDNOS. But that makes me feel like I'm not a faker, and validates treatment. When I was in treatment last summer, I did feel like a faker, because I looked normal and a lot of the girls didn't - that was something I struggled with a lot, and still do, I guess. Anyway, I thought that was interesting. (And I probably just bored you all to pieces, too, didn't I? )

Other than that (haha) and the crashes and all, things are going okay. I'm taking my road test tomorrow (and am having a freakout about that), so prayers would be much appreciated! I had a friend over for a few hours yesterday and that was nice, although we did get in a few minor "arguments," which was annoying to say the least! She is very opinionated and refuses to see my side of the argument when I can let myself see hers even if I disagree with it. And I'm tutoring an ESL (English as a Second Language) student Tuesdays and Thursdays, which, so far, has been a challenge for both of us!! But I enjoy it.

And that's about it. :)

*snuggles everyone*

So Amoeba your a big Star Trek fan I take it.

I haven't been having a very good week so far I have gotten several rejection letters concerning jobs I applied for. Also I hhave started having wierd dreams where the central theme is failure to find a job.
