I'm still working on writing mine out. I have a journal and have split it into the different areas of my life (health, spiritual, family, marriage, work, etc) and have written down things I've been discouraged with in those areas.
I am then writing down my ultimate goal in each area and steps to reach them.
*I do need to lose weight (about 50 pounds) and eat healthier and exercise regularly. So that is one!
*I want to reestablish my quiet time with God everyday. *I haven't been having that time, and I really need it.
*We need to work on our finances.
*I want to really start working on my art more, painting and drawing.
Those are just a few. I know that I won't be perfect in all areas and it will take time to reach all my goals. I think that's why I call them goals instead of resolutions. It's just always seemed like if you make a resolution, then break it once, then that's the end, you've failed. I like looking at it more as a goal that I'm working towards.

Great topic!!!!

My goals for 2007:

~serve the Lord in new areas (still trying to decide in which areas)
~Add to my homeschooling routine
~Study the bible in new ways (I want to take a break from topical studies and focus on books of the bible)
~Connect deeper with friends & church family

I will come back with more later...I need to start on laundry. :)

Thank you for inviting me to this thread!

As I stated in my blog, my grandpa's advice to me was "when you get older, you realize that there is no point in making a resolution, because you don't keep it anyway."
;)
That's true for me - because I have a hard time keeping promises to myself!! So... my new year's resolution is to actually KEEP my new year's resolution!! I plan to keep up with my exercise routine and stay fit and healthy.

I also need to work on my willingness to forgive and let the past go...

Happy new year everyone!

Welcome to the thread jenrenee! And a big welcome to CF also! I cherish the name Renee. It's my youngest's middle name. Did you know it means reborn? We wanted that as a first name, but couldn't come up with what we thought was an appropriate sounding middle name-- so it became her middle name.

I read your blog. I too coached for years until an auto accident that left me unable to do anything but putting a routine together, teaching chants and cheers and motions. Wasn't it GREAT exercise-- all the warming up and stretching, jumps, stunting, etc?

Hello! Thank you - I have always loved my middle name! I was named after my aunt, who was still born - her name was Lisa Renee. I think it is so pretty. I'm sure you're daughter will/does love it too!

Wow, yes - cheerleading was always great exercise - although no one ever believed me! :) They all thought it was just running around and yelling. I really miss doing all that, especcially the routines and stunting - this is my last year coaching and I know I'm going to miss it too - but I have to start dedicating more time to my family. I still hope I can help them out when needed though!

Wow! That's great! We never got to do anything quite that high - liability and all that. Her stunt looks great!

Before college my girls Cheered at All-star gyms traveling around the state and a couple of out of state competitions. They were both on advanced level teams... oldest was on seniors and the other on youth. Both have standing tucks and are working their full for running tumbling.

To be fair... here is a pic of my younger one cheering last year... she is the one on the boy's shoulders...

Welcome aboard LilGeorgiaPeach! Boy... are we starting a new year with a ton of new friends or what? =) This is great!

Since we seem to just be chit-chatting I don't feel as if I'm hijacking the thread. =) ImHisServant... those are great pics!

I think cheerleading is the greatest sport to get a young girl involved in. I realize the coach and can or make the experience-- let's add in the Commissioner too. So many people would snicker at me or I'd hear so many negative comments about cheerleading-oldest started at 4 1/2 (when she entered kindergarten) and the youngest followed big sis at the age of 3 1/2 (she was already at every practice and comp anyway-- she's always been very tall [8 now and almost 5'] so no one knew differently).

But truly I think it's awesome. It teaches little girls so much: confidence in themselves (particularly when they are infront of a crowd of thousands), you sincerely become one huge band of sisters and family, team work (can't put up stunts without everyone there), etc. We have so much cheerleading paraphanelia (what dh calls it) it is almost ridiculous-- trophies upon trophies, poms (went from red, black and white to green, gold and white when we moved), bags, crafts, megaphone lollipop candy molds, etc. I just thought it was so much fun. Being out here in the country cheering levels and styles are quite different, so the girls moved on to something else.

I do miss those days, but we still frequent the in-state comps when we can. But I don't miss hearing the parents complain about the spectator lines! =)

ImHisServant, Thank you so much for the invite! I really need this!

(my middle name is Renee also!)

I'm really still thinking about the goals for this year...

One of them is that I want to get more into reading His word and developing a closer relationship with God.

Another is working on my relationship with my husband.

Working out, loosing 10 pounds.

I'm still working on my list.

I'm really looking forward to getting to know everyone. :)
