Hi Ladies!

Sandy: I don't know why the adoption process is so hard when there so many families willing to give children good homes. I hope from now on you don't hit any more brick walls and it's smooth sailing.

My Christmas was ok. I think I've watched too many shows with perfect families and perfect Christmas's. You know, the matching outfits, the long lovely decorated table, pleasant conversation, amazing food, carols playing softly in the background. The Christmas story read from the bible while the children listening intently....ya....mine was not like that. But then I think...whose is? No one is perfect, no holidays are perfect...tv is fake. lol Anyway, Christmas was ok except for belonging to a dysfunctional family (mine and my DH) and that Christmas Day morning my 2 boys were whiny as could be...why I thought Christmas would mean perfectly behaved children I don't know. lol

My boys woke up to a train table put together in front of the tree and they were estatic. I loved the look on their faces. Of course b/c of the train table they didn't want to listen to the bible story...which really upset me...maybe next year we won't have anything set up so they will listen. ugh

My DH got me an IPOD like thing...but made from another company...IPOD was sold out. I love it.

Hope all is well with everyone.

Christina

Hi Ladies!

Sandy: The biggest thing to remember, while you go through these trials of faith. You don't have to fight the government....our Lord will fight it for you, take it to Him to battle. His will always wins.

Christmas: The outreach dinner went fantastic, it was truly a blessing and on a personal level that is Christmas for Eric and myself. The only time we take off are the other 2.5 days of the Christmas holiday, but with his mom's moving in and I had promised to cook dinner for my kids on Christmas day, which was supposed to be the end be for some 25+ people including my daughter's new in-laws, I ended up cooking for the rest of the "vacation". So we didn't get much rest. My youngest daughter and her family ended up not being able to make it due to car problems, which was hard, but finally my son who flew in from Baltimore did make it that evening. Yay! And the new in-law's did enjoy their visit and my son-in-law was said it was one of the best Christmas' they had, so truly that is a blessing. But the food that was left over! Hopefully my daughter and two kids at least will make it down today or tomorrow and they can help eat some of it. ;)

My daughter comes home tonight... then we are gonna have her and our son (4) bake cookies for Santa - then our Christmas day will be tomorrow :)

My mom and uncle are coming over after the kids open their gifts. Then we are having a huge feast!

Sounds like fun! I baked cookies all day yesterday and have a few more to do today, plus decorating them. We are having Christmas with my family on Sunday...then a New Years eve part at church. So it will be a busy day!!
Have a great day!

You know......this is wonderful.......and one of the wonders of our Lord I think. For in honor of Him, we can have the flexibility to change the actual time of celebration so that we can spend it with our families and honor Him......in a way almost twice.....for we do think of Him and the honor He deserves on the actual Christmas day....but then again on the day we are able to get together with our families.

Next year......I hope to come up with ways to make the whole month of December more special and in His honor. It started off good this year......but with all the craziness going on, as we got closer to Christmas...well, I remember saying to myself, I actual felt like it was more like Christmas a week and a half prior to Christmas than actual Christmas eve. Not really a bad thing, because there were so many activities in honor of Him that were accomplished this year all month long. (so I hope this doesn't sound bad)...and right at Christmas time it was just nuts, too many big changes ending at the same time.

So many other holidays, we would just say, the 4th of July, not celebrate it together or something.....perhaps even thanksgiving.....but Christmas....it is the specialness of Christ that enables us to persevere to have that day with our families.

Have a Merry one Ladies!!

B'More? You sure 'bout that hon? ;) (It's a Baltimore thing to everyone who's thinking what in the world is she talking about!?!?!?).

THAT'S MY STOMPING GROUND! You have a son around here? What a small world!

No kidding!! Really?? Yup, he's working with a commercial construction company up there, moved up from Florida last summer! He works a lot in the DC area, one of his projects is at the Smithsonian. How kewl!

I am kinda hoping he's still up there next Christmas, I'd love to be able to go up in the wintertime, perhaps go see New York City all decked out for Christmas, the white house, maybe some SNOW!

Sennaria, God won!! I was notified Friday morning that Mexico would accept the paperwork without the amendments even though my daughter had turned 18 and is legally considered an adult. They said Mexico is the only country that would accept it and it was their mistake for sending me the letter prior to checking the countries policy! GO God!! I should recieve the approval letter on Tuesday and the adoption case will go before the judge in Mexico as early as January 10!!
Thank you everyone for your kind words of support & your prayers. I should know better than to doubt Him...He is bigger than everything (government included!!) and He has had His hand in every part of this adoption from day one. This story is honestly amazing! Some day I'd love to share the whole story.
Well, HAPPY NEW YEARS EVE!! Hope everyone has a fun & safe night. As for me, I will be working night shift 7p-7a so I will have time to work on my resolutions!!!

WOW! Your son's job sounds interesting. The DC area can be hectic, but so can Baltimore. We lived there until several years ago when we moved and are now surrounded by what feels like nothing but farms. Oh how I long to move back. I'm such a city girl no one thought I'd last 9-12 months out here. I always say on graduation day for our youngest the "for sale" sign goes on the house. Listen to me complaining. lol You'd think we moved a trillion miles away-- and really we're only an hour from B'more.

Actually we have a very famous street in B'more in which almost every home gets all decked out for Christmas. I've never been to NYC for Christmas, but I really do like NYC. Hopefully you'll be able to come up here next year. If you do bring the snow with you. Yesterday's temps were in the 60's-- 62 for us, plus humidity. It certainly doesn't feel like January-- that's for sure!

PTL this is AWESOME news! I'm so happy for you and your family, and soon-to-be bigger family! I will pray for smooth sailing! Keep us posted!

Oh I'd love to see that.......who knows, maybe next year.....He is doing well......and has a plan, he is moving up fast and says in two years, he should be of a high enough position to never have to put a tool belt on again and just be in a supervisory position. He wants to take classes to so he can get into business or management. So I have two years to get up there. :holy:

Goals for the New Year

Good Morning and Happy New Year... I don't know about any of you... but I sure have missed this thread and am glad and ready to get it going again!

I'm starting this year off with a "New Year" topic... what are some goals you have for this year... some things you want to change... or ways you want to grow.

I'd really like to be more consistant in my relationship with God... and I would like to lose about 50 pounds. I'd like for our relationship with our oldest daughter to keep getting better to the point of her wanting to come down for the summer. I'd like my marriage to grow in love and intimacy... and our business to take off and be successful. :D If it's meant to be I'd like for us to move to Arkansas... and I'd love to be debt free - or move much closer to that. That's about all I can think of.

These last few months I've really been working on deepening my personal relationship with Jesus and have that as my top priority.

After that, it is to finally have the resource center completely up and going and our business that we steward in a position to finally be able to support us and always be able to pay its and our basic personal bills on time.

Third and lastly, as business grows to keep searching for ways the Lord wants us to use it to reach out to the community.
