You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.
Isaiah 26:3 {NIV}

The world bombards us with messages telling us we need more of everything. We can escape the grip of our desires by turning to Jesus. He offers peace and contentment the world can never give us.

Hi Ladies!

I just wanted to say thanks for your comments and advice. My hubby and I had a really great conversation today that was actually triggered by the sermon our pastor preached at church this morning. The sermon was about what a true disciple of Jesus looks like: putting Him first, loving Him most, giving all of yourself to Him, putting Him in TOTAL charge of your life. My hubby knows that He doesn't do this like he should and vows to change that. WOW! Gotta love it when the pastor hits home.

Sennaria: Thanks so much for sharing your heart with us. I will say that the decision you made to become more like room-mates with your boyfriend must have been tough and one that most people wouldn't make. That's awesome!

Good morning everyone!!
As soon as I could get on I have as I have the topic for today and tomorrow. Let me open with, God is so good, and I am so glad to hear the ways that He is working with you and your husband. And He is also being faithful to Eric and myself. He gave me some Word over us this morning during my Bible Study, I know that I know that all will be well. He is giving us direction!!!!!! Praise God.

Anyway, I've been thinking over the topic for today and tomorrow all weekend and feel I am being led to have two days at least of talk of Thanksgiving. I know not everyone here is in the US and is celebrating Thanksgiving this week, but I'm not speaking of the holiday....but offering our praise and Thanksgiving to the Lord and what it will do for us as well as for Him, why we do it even when things are tough. God is truly moving in our lives.

Psa 50:14 Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High:
Psa 50:15 And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

You know, even when it seems that things are not going well, we should offer sacrifices of praise and thanksgiving....Lev 7:12 If he offer it for a thanksgiving, then he shall offer with the sacrifice of thanksgiving unleavened cakes mingled with oil, and unleavened wafers anointed with oil, and cakes mingled with oil, of fine flour, fried.
So often, if the enemy is even trying to toy with us, frustrate us, he holds NO power over us, thanks to our Lord Jesus. So we combat Him with speaking the Word over our situations and offering sacrifices of praise and Thanksgiving!!!

It's not always easy to be thankful when we're going through difficulties. I think it's because we're so focused on the problem at hand that we forget the outcome. The outcome is success over the issue and being able to grow more in Christ through the difficulty. :)

Good morning Ladies!!

I wasn't sure what to post this morning at all. I know its a busy week for everyone. And we all have prayers that we are waiting for answers to, some situations that we thought might have been over and it seems that perhaps they are trying to creep up again. I know right now I am dealing with this, but this time, I am refusing to accept it, because I know that Jesus has brought us through, I know that it is a mountain that we have moved past and the enemy is trying to create doubt within me. So I am holding on to my scriptures and speaking them aloud, as the enemy hates that....and in this I ran across this scripture this morning...

Col 4:2 Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;
Col 4:3 Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:
Col 4:4 That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.

We should always continue in prayer, but note how he says "watch in the same with thanksgiving"? I cannot help but feel this morning that He is telling us....pray, hold onto my word, and watch, with praise, with Thanksgiving for I shall hear you. Just as He asked the apostles to watch in the garden, yet they slept, and this annoyed Him and He chided them for it...."Can you not watch for but an hour?". We must have patience, the answer is coming, we must keep the faith that His Word is true.

That is something I think many lack. The patience to wait for an answer. They think if they pray that God will and should answer immediately. They don't understand that God's timing is perfect and that he answers when we are ready.

Good morning Sennaria and you did a good job!

Good Morning Ladies!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving week. Canada celebrates Thanksgiving in October but I can celebrate it again with the US. :)

I am thankful that the Creator of all the earth, the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and End loves me. Little, insignificant me. I can't even begin to grasp that truth. Thank you Lord for loving me! For loving me even though I fall, even though I'm not perfect....thank you for loving me even though.

~There is no such thing as unanswered prayer. God answers all prayer but not always in the way we'd like Him to. It's always answered to His will, nonetheless.

Being In The Spirit

We all know that people go to church. However, has church become a task instead of what it is supposed to be? Has church simply become another item on our Sunday agenda? God isn't looking for people who simply go to church. He's looking for worshipers.

"But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers."
John 4:23

There's a lot of talk about people searching for the Lord but, God is actually looking for us. He's looking for those who worship him in spirit and truth. Those who actually live the christian life. Those with the spirit for God do more than just add church to their to-do list. True worship should never be a burden, an obligation or a scheduled item. It's a total spiritual recognition of the Lord's grace and loving-kindness. We can in fact worship him anywhere...anytime. And get this...we can do so out of the desire of our heart and not just because it's Sunday, the scheduled day for worship. Those who have the truth have genuine praise or reverence for the Lord. Not just an emotional high. Without the truth then worship would be based on sentimental feelings alone. Simple feeling will never last or promote the changes that God desires for us in our lives.
Are you worshiping the Lord in the spirit and truth? Are you the kind of christian the Lord is seeking? Take some time this week to do a spiritual checkup to see if your worship is real or routine. God cares for us because he wants to. Not because he has to. We must love and worship him in the same respect.

Even when we are working, I have had many conversations with Eric that even in the kitchen, when we are working we should have an attitude of worship about us. Everything we do should be in worship, dedicated to God, after all, He gave it to us didn't He? Worship so is not about just songs....it is living....it is by what we say and what we think, how we act. These are all actions of Worship
Mat 15:8 "All of you praise me with your words, but you never really think about me.
Mat 15:9 It is useless for you to worship me, when you teach rules made up by humans."
Mat 15:10 Jesus called the crowd together and said, "Pay attention and try to understand what I mean.
Mat 15:11 The food that you put into your mouth doesn't make you unclean and unfit to worship God. The bad words that come out of your mouth are what make you unclean."

In everything we do and say we should honor and magnify our Lord, thus it is worshipping Him. Isn't this wonderful??
