• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

warning doubt trigger. I worry about something bad. I cant say what due to ocd. a lot of coincidences happen. like seeing internet stuff at the second I was thinking about it or my mind making random scenarios like "if this happens in the next seconds, maybe it will be a sign" and then it happens. I used to have synchronicities with sounds like dog, door sounds and alarms. one time I thought about the 3 sounds happening together. and it happened after 1 minute. today, I saw a picture in facebook that somehow worried me and a thought came to me like "i hope I wont hear a synchronicity sound (dog, door or an alarm) and I heard dog barking. what do you think about this?

Hey, Kostilaks.

I used to suffer from OCD symptoms and not that long ago I would encounter things like repeating numbers all the time for example. So I have an idea of what you might be dealing with.

These synchronicites you mention may be anything. I believe you should be cautious about trying to interpret these as messages.

God speaks to us in different ways (mainly through Scripture). But He is not a God of confusion.

These things you are experiencing could be spiritual attacks by the enemy to try and distract you or fill you with anxiety. We are all targets of the enemy.

Whether or not they are spiritual attacks, I would ask you to simply focus on our Lord Jesus. He is bigger than anything you are going through. Pray to Jesus. Thank him for his divine protection and grace. And when these occurrences happen again, you are free to ignore them.

Listen to God through His written Word, His Spirit, and wise counsel.

I stopped giving my attention to the repeating numbers and they stopped. I simply didn't give them any attention. I think you should see them as distractions and focus on Jesus through prayer, worship, and study.

I hope this helps. :)

You said "used to." What happened to those old coincidences? I mean, why did your reaction to them change?
