  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm more of a tea girl myself. I don't care for green or white tea. I like the old-school black stuff.

I also recently discovered I prefer Lipton to most other brands.

We just had the same revelation! My wife and I looked at one another and laughed because we had been trying lots of other teas lately. :)

As for workplace coffee, it like a popcorn machine, is best when rarely cleaned and even then only rinsed out with water. :-D

Tradition holds that I clean my work coffee cup every Jan 2nd or 3rd, whatever the first workday of the year is. That's it. It's kinda like a weber grill, the stuff that sticks to it is just extra flavor.

Its not the coffee - it's the delish creamers and sweeteners that flavor the coffee that i love.
I prefer French Vanilla. IF you do the other seasonal flavors - it can get pretty sickening and sweet.

Do you have one of those *cough* hilarious mugs that read "Nobody's prefect and I'm nobody" or something along those lines?

I've been drinking coffee since I was in 2nd grade (my Baba always gave me a cup of it even if my parents said no) and I think I lived off the stuff through high school and college. It wasn't until I moved out of my parents house (after college) that I started trying the really awesome whole bean stuff~ we have a great coffee place in town. (It's called Beans: Bean's - Montclair NJ) Last time I went was with my in-laws and my FIL bought me a lb of the Ethiopian coffee~ just amazing! (FIL was in the Peace Corps when he was younger and taught/served in Ethiopia)

I'm a huge fan of chia~ but I don't really know of good brands. I normally buy Tazo Chai Tea Latte concentrate (Tazo® Chai Tea Latte Concentrate | Starbucks® Store)

As much as I love coffee, my husband can't stand the stuff. However, he grew up in a household where his Dad always made the coffee in the morning and would bring his wife a cup of coffee to wake her up. They insisted he carry on the tradition with me :) So every morning, at 6am, alarm goes off, I sleep for another 20 minutes and then I'm presented a cup of coffee. Hubby also insists that we only buy whole bean and he was the one to actually buy the coffee grinder. :)

I love green tea too, but it kills my stomach if I have more than a cup in a day. :(

You should try (if you haven't already): Rakuraku maccha, or just maccha for short. It's a green tea powder with sugar mixed into it and you put about a tsp (or more) into a cup of hot milk. Apparently its even healthier than just regular green tea, but its more expensive.

Mine is Cocconut Cream Coffemate but French Vanilla will do. I'm still in morning over not being able to find Vanilla Nut Coffemate any more, except in powder form which isn't even close. I think International Delight brand is too sweet, but I never learn my lesson and feel compelled to try all the new flavors they are always coming out with even though I'm fairly certain I'll try it once and pour the remainder down the drain, there's always that chance I'm find my next Vanilla Nut, hopless coffee romantic I am.

Ok, OT but
Does any one remember the Married with Children episode when the Bundys and the Darcys have a Labor Day cook out and the kids accidently empty Al's grill which has the build up of many cook outs past giving flavor to his famous Bundy burgers and the kids replace the grill ashes with those of Marcy's late aunt so Al doesn't find out.

LOL, that is so lame! Mine is cool, it says "I can only please one person per day, today isn't your day. Tomorrow doesn't look good either.". It has Garfield on it. I also have a backup that says " stressed backwards spelled desserts."

Not really. My current mug is a hand-me-down commemorative mug celebrating 20 years of commercial power generation at a nuclear power plant. The man who gave it to me passed away a few years back. He was a good friend and a brilliant engineer.
