I think this is good advice, lots of people are loaded down with too much stuff. Someitmes theres whole rooms in the house full of it which could have been used as a guest bedroom for someone. But you cant move cos of the STUFF.

Or you cant find stuff, cos you have too much stuff. And you dont even use it. And someone else could. And you cant take your STUFF to heaven.

You feed others out of it.

People take truck loads more food to the food banks for the poor this way then they ever have before.

You can share out of your spiritual and carnal blessings for others.

...I have just been looking at my spare room...and it is full of clutter, too many chairs, and so much else. I would like to make it into a spare bedroom for my daughter in law and her children to visit, so out with the clutter.

Ive been tidying up the sewing room, its really mums room but has a bed in it that could be used for a guest if only there werent so many boxes everywhere like sleeping in a cupboard.

I took a whole bag of old clothes to the clothing bin yesterday. They recycle the clothes in my country or send it to other countries that need it.

My wife is one to hang on to stuff she hasn't used in 30 years because of sentimental reasons...she has sets of dishes (yeah plural) that hasn't seen the light of day since Bill Clinton was president. OTOH she's not one to go shopping for clothes all the time and owns exactly 2 pair of shoes (and one of those is snow boots) So I'm probably ahead of the curve there.

Oh gosh, I can't stand clutter. I don't have anything in my home that I don't know about, unless the cats snuck something in! Anything not used is given away. A few times over the years, I have erred on the side of generosity and given away things that made my family sad. I have learned to ask before I give with things others might deem sentimental.

Yes some people are sentimental over the most useless things. Like we had this rusty bathroom scale that you cant even read the numbers on, and so dad bought a new one at my suggestion and chucked out the old one. Mum threw a fit as apparently was a wedding gift.

Are you not EVER meant to throw away gifts?

No kidding...Goodwill makes a living at this sort of thing...

I gave away another three bags full of clothes to the op shop.
yea! now sewing room can actually move around in.

I don't know why my mum hoards old clothes she never wears. Her dresser is stuffed full and piles of it, and the drawers can't even close properly.

There's this book I recommend called Clutter free by Kathy Lipp.
Also the Messies Manual was a good one. It really helped me get organised, and thusly, prepared.

But i think I'm winning. Even when mum didnt want me to chuck out the garbage but it WAS rubbish day.


Really she even goes through the bin to fish stuff OUT.

I found a book that will help me called SPEED CLEANING. Get everything done in 15 minutes.
I just need one if those caddies to put all my cleaning tools in.
