Did Bill Clinton not lie under oath about committing adultery with Monica Lewinski? I think whatever he says you would be best to believe the opposite. Kind Regards.
I'm certainly not taking his word for anything. But, at least in this situation, there doesn't seem to be any evidence of wrongdoing on his part either.Did Bill Clinton not lie under oath about committing adultery with Monica Lewinski? I think whatever he says you would be best to believe the opposite. Kind Regards.
Yup, he did. Though, since adultery is not a crime, what's the big deal?Did Bill Clinton not lie under oath about committing adultery with Monica Lewinski?
I'd think it'd be best to check the accuracy for yourself rather than assume one way or the other, but that's me.I think whatever he says you would be best to believe the opposite. Kind Regards.
Perjury.Yup, he did. Though, since adultery is not a crime, what's the big deal?
Perjury.
Yup, I'm aware his lying about the adultery was perjury. I'm still unclear, however, on what the significance of that is.Perjury.
That he committed a crime. It’s irrelevant what the lie under oath is about it remains a criminal act.Yup, I'm aware his lying about the adultery was perjury. I'm still unclear, however, on what the significance of that is.
-- A2SG, or the relevance to the current proceedings.....
Again, I'm aware of what perjury is. And I remain unclear on the significance of that, or the relevance to the current proceedings. That he committed a crime. It’s irrelevant what the lie under oath is about it remains a criminal act.
If he lied about having sex with an adult do you think he would tell the truth about having sex with a minor?Yup, I'm aware his lying about the adultery was perjury. I'm still unclear, however, on what the significance of that is.

What difference would that make? If Clinton were to be tried for having sex with a minor, his testimony wouldn't be required and cannot be compelled (per the 5th Amendment); so whether or not he'd be likely to commit perjury would be entirely irrelevant. If prosecutors don't have sufficient evidence of a crime BEFORE indicting a defendant, there is no case.If he lied about having sex with an adult do you think he would tell the truth about having sex with a minor?

So, I remain unclear on the significance.
-- A2SG, seems more about some people's personal distrust of Clinton.....and they have every right to trust, or distrust, him however they wish.....
He is willing to lie under oath to avoid embarrassment about legal acts. That does not inspire confidence in his truthfulness when questioned under oath about possible criminal acts. So, I remain unclear on the significance.
I wasn't aware that he had been accused of doing anything illegal (currently) beyond vague gesturing in the direction of his association with Epstein.Whether or not he is guilty has no significance to you?
How confident any individual is regarding Bill Clinton's truthfulness under oath or otherwise is for the individual to decide. He is willing to lie under oath to avoid embarrassment about legal acts. That does not inspire confidence in his truthfulness when questioned under oath about possible criminal acts.
Were there no other questions to ask? He'd already submitted answers in writing to the committee, so what was the purpose of this inquiry? If he lied about having sex with an adult do you think he would tell the truth about having sex with a minor?
To embarrass a Democrat and imply that he was connected to EpsteinWere there no other questions to ask? He'd already submitted answers in writing to the committee, so what was the purpose of this inquiry?
