I don't get why Billy doesn't just cooperate with the deposition. If he's got nothing to hide why act like you have something to hide?

Also, this thread is not supposed to be about Trump.

Rumor is if the Clintons are held in contempt, it opens discovery into the Epstein files and could result in making them public. Take that with a grain of salt though.

I'm curious....has anyone, anywhere, claimed otherwise?

I admit, I'm not the most diligent news junkie out there, but have Clinton supporters been calling this "lawfare" or have they been constructing conspiracy theories about how the entire judicial system has been weaponized against them? Have we seen endless legal pundits throw out a variety of theories about the validity of the case against the Clintons? Anything close to any of that? If so, I haven't seen it.

As far as I can tell, there is no one, anywhere, saying the Clintons are above the law.

Yes, the Supreme Court has ruled that a sitting president (and perhaps by extension presidential candidates) have absolute immunity.

In a letter to Comer, the Clintons said they didn't plan to appear for the scheduled depositions, arguing that the subpoenas are “legally invalid” and citing legal analysis prepared by two law firms that they said were provided to the committee on Monday.

I'm wondering why the Comer committee didn't have a public hearing, as the Clintons wished. Here's the impression that leaves. They have nothing to hide. The partisan witch hunters who want to divert attention away from Trump have plenty to hide.

For example, the 53 pages that are suddenly missing, and which a Democrat Congressman who had seen and read them said it contained substantial information about the 13 year old girl who talked about Trump raping her. Out of a million pages, those 53 are missing? This committee is corrupted--but if Republican Congressman Gonzalez of Texas is forced to resign, Johnson's 1 person majority disappears, and Comer and the other Trump-protectors will be shut down.

Since no one (yet) has the video/transcript, Comer can control the narrative. Take the 'best' ten second soundbite and feed it to the GOP's media proxies for the 'news' shows. Get ready for Daily Caller headlines like "Hillary disintegrated by this must-watch explosive Epstein question!"
