  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I have not. Don't go to many movies. I'll look it up now.

It's kinda vulgar so maybe you shouldn't look it up. Just wondering cause it spells out what the world will look like after centuries of waste pileup.

One factor that did not become obvious until recent years is that ice melts from both the top and bottom. At this point in the year the top melting of Artic sea ice has stopped as air temperatures drop. However, bottom melting is still going on. This factor has in the past been ignored or dramatically underestimated. We learn as we go.

silliness is right , . Giving up the constitution? Really? How?
What is really scary I think is that if all this climate change information is accurate. Then the governments around the world are too slow to reduce CO2 emissions.

The world may be forced into a one world government to strongly enforce CO2 reduction.

They don't seem to have a lot of time left to start managing the world emissions. So I believe that we will observe an increasing level of global panic in the coming years.

The clock is ticking!

The article pointed out a 1.1 degree Celsius increase in temp since 1850 didn't it?

Add to that the emission of methane and nitrous oxide released from the soil after melting ice cover on the continents. Methane and nitrous oxide are potent greenhouse gases and we only discovered this recently. The IPCC never included these gases in their calculations.

We know so little and this climate change phenomenon has taken everyone by surprise.
All I know is that the effect of climate change on this planet is becoming alarming.

It highlighted that global temperatures have risen by 1.1 degrees Celsius since 1850, and have gone up 0.2C between 2011 and 2015.

Yeah I saw the ramp, which is what I was afraid of, a sort of exponential increase.

Climate change 'hitting harder and sooner' than forecast, warn scientists ahead of UN meeting.

The data, compiled by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), says climate change is accelerating, with sea-levels rising, carbon dioxide levels increasing and ice sheets melting faster than ever before.

It highlighted that global temperatures have risen by 1.1 degrees Celsius since 1850, and have gone up 0.2 C between 2011 and 2015.

Sea levels have been rising by an average of 5 millimeters a year in the past five years, compared to 3.2 mm a year on average since 1993, with much of the rise attributed to melting glaciers and ice sheets.

The report flagged that Arctic summer sea ice has declined at a rate of 12 per cent per decade over the past 40 years, with the four lowest values between 2015 and 2019.

The amount of ice lost from the Antarctic ice sheet increased by a factor of six each year between 1979 and 2017, while glacier loss for 2015-19 is also the highest for any five-year period on record.

An alarming article and it will be interesting to see how the governments react to this news.
No doubt with measures that also happen to exert more ideaological control over the masses.

If this stuff is indeed anthropogenic, it is likely that the balance has already tipped. It is clear that creation is doing what it needs to do. All that remains is to hang on for the ride. Nevertheless it will be a good excise to unite the world under the banner of the man of peace.

They virtually have total control via social media now.

Regardless of the issues the world must be strongly managed due to the massive economies now and population pressures.

Global telecommunication is a truly brave new world. We are observing the younger generation obsessed with social media now and this cannot be stopped.

We are becoming a global society and no single group or government can control this phenomenon.

Hold onto your seat.

I could not agree more and I believe you are correct.

The problem of climate change is ramping up and way beyond our ability to curtail it.

The world is being pushed into it's decisions and cannot avoid some sort of global government.
A perfect platform for a global leader to step up to the plate, to strongly manage a broken world.

"But even if all countries meet the goals they set themselves, the world will warm by 2.9C to 3.4C, the report found.

The current levels of ambition would need to be tripled to meet the 2C goal and increased five-fold to meet the 1.5C goal — which is technically still possible."

If these guys got their way they would start a planet wide tank slapper. Scary stuff indeed.
Like a kid tinkering in the back of the computer, the magicians nephew etc.
Better to stop worrying about civilisationism, and look after those who will bear the brunt of the upheavel while allowing creation to sort itself out.

If the governments continue to disregard deep and effective changes to CO2 emissions. The future climate will rise higher than a few degrees.
Any room for natural causes?

Like it or not we are going to experience a global tank slapper. I rode motorbikes for decades and have unfortunately suffered tank slapping experiences. So I know exactly what your saying; a heart in mouth event.

Mankind is rapidly being pushed into a corner as this climate change info is steadily growing. This will soon be the dominant issue that mankind needs to address, enjoy the ride.
