You are hugely hugely hugely wrong. Some get money only for results. Some get money only for publishing findings. Some get paid the same no matter what they discover. Their ONLY payment (mentally) is recognition from peers or personal results. Results from an investment of their TIME.

I'm very confused here. If everyone lies then evidence in favor of evolution could be fudged, and "evidence" in favor of creation could be fudged. Is there a way to determine who's truthful?

I find it hard to believe, in a world where survival of the fittest is easy to see, that in-between species could survive...much less thrive.
And that is in the case of all the transitions you've listed.

Yet, they did survive... long enough to produce sufficient fossils for us to find a few.
