As for Israel being a nation again, there were others who also expected that. The big difference was that they believed, and still do, that the Jews are being positioned for a revival back to Messiah. Dispensationalists however, place Jews in an elite position during the millennium. It is based on race and anti New Testament.

You mean like the 12 Apostles, like John, and old testament prophets like Daniel ?

At minute 19:31 on the video, it appears as though Larkin view the scarlet woman on the beast as an "ecumenical church" formed after the true church is caught up - raptured.

I am not sure of what he means by "ecumenical church".

Larkin had a lot of good information his charts - like the inquisition 1227-1824.

btw, I am using a program called "epic pen" to take a screen shot of portions of Larkin's video, to focus on. Then I simply paste into my post. I can go back and edited my post and add arrows if I want.

Are human beings, all guilty of sin, "the most Holy"? I don't think so.

Jesus was anointed by the woman in Bethany in preparation for his burial.

I despair sometimes. :cry: Daniel 9:24 is the most glorious description of the atonement and it goes right over your head.

anoint-the-holy.png

The ‘weeks’ finish with the anointing of the most holy. Again, this has been subject to misunderstanding with arguments as to whether it refers to Jesus’ anointing or to a temple yet un-built. A point often made is how the ‘most holy’ is speaking of a place, not of a person. To understand this phrase properly we need to consider the tabernacle of Moses and see how it was anointed originally. Indeed, the structure was anointed with holy oil along with every item of furniture, and finally the priests were anointed as well. Therefore, ‘to anoint the most holy’ means to consecrate the temple in its entirety, both place as well as person.

Please note that the consecration of the priests took seven days. This represents the years required to anoint God's temple not made by man’s hands, that is, Jesus and His church.

They go together. He is the foundation; we are the stones. He is the head; we are the body. It is a single holy temple extending from heaven to earth, anointed during the span of the 70th week. Accordingly ...
  • Jesus was anointed at his baptism, and then the temple was raised up after his sacrificial death.
  • Next, the Church was anointed at Pentecost,
  • and finally the completed Church was anointed when the Gentiles were grafted in.
Thus, the ‘most holy’ is indeed a temple, though not a physical building. Nor is it solely the person of Christ, but is the anointed manifestation of Christ together with His Church.

It is not anointing with the Holy Spirit. Christians did not stop being anointed with the Holy Spirit, back in the first century.

Humans are sinners, they are not the most Holy - to be anointed.

Jesus anointed by the woman in Bethany in preparation for his burial - taken from Jesus Himself words. Which your chart is not based on Jesus speaking Himself.

Jesus arrived in Jerusalem hailed as the Messiah. John 12:13 Palms Sunday.

Jesus, four days later, crucified.

Jesus, resurrected, on the third day, Easter Sunday.

This forum shifts the setup, so it isn't how I wanted it to be.
I did make it clear that the AoD happens at the mid point of the final 7 years. The leader of the OWG sitting in the Temple and claiming to be God; IS the AoD.

I totally reject your idea of the 1290 and 1335 days starting before that mid point.

But as I constantly reiterate, what we should all be prepared for is the forthcoming Lord's Day of fiery wrath. After that Day, things will become much clearer.

I had not heard of Clarence Larkin, 1850- 1924, but he was big on charts as a means to convey concepts and order to subjects found in the bible. His charts were impressive considering the time which he lived. If he were living today, he might update his charts on the end times, in refinement.

Here is a video showing his charts, which if viewed full screen a person can pause the video to look at his charts. The video has colorized edited versions of Larkin's chart.

I don’t agree with the premise of 7,000 years of human history. Perhaps this generation of man.

Well, if you read the context of 9:24, it is for the Jews and the holy city Jerusalem, so not everything can be just attributed to the Church. Prophecy will not be finished until Jerusalem is restored and the Temple restored and anointed, therefore the 70th week is still future.

IMO, the more I think on this, the actual Temple itself (not the surrounding courts and such) will be preserved and moved when the earth is remade during the day of the Lord judgments. Rev 11 seems to confirm this, and both Ezek 40, and Rev 11, are "measured". Daniel 8 would make no sense unless the Temple the Jews will make will be preserved- the Lord putting on the finishing touches (outer court walls and such) on the new plateau (mountain) where mount Zion will be. We know there will be major changes in the land, but the city will still be Jerusalem with a connection from the past.

The inner Temple itself is pretty small (Ezek 41:13), and the Jews will follow the plans of Ezek to build it most likely. I just find it interesting that both are measured (Ezek and John), and the Temple that will be next seems to survive and need to be cleansed-according to Daniel 8.

*Any Futurists ever consider this? I use to think total destruction of the next Temple, but Scripture seems to say other wise. It seems God put this on my brain just recently. :scratch:

24“Seventy weeks have been decreed for your people and your holy city, to finish the transgression, to make an end of sin, to make atonement for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy place.

The Little Horn

9Out of one of them came forth a rather small horn which grew exceedingly great toward the south, toward the east, and toward the Beautiful Land. 10It grew up to the host of heaven and caused some of the host and some of the stars to fall to the earth, and it trampled them down. 11It even magnified itself to be equal with the Commander of the host; and it removed the regular sacrifice from Him, and the place of His sanctuary was thrown down. 12And on account of transgression the host will be given over to the horn along with the regular sacrifice; and it will fling truth to the ground and perform its will and prosper. 13Then I heard a holy one speaking, and another holy one said to that particular one who was speaking, “How long will the vision about the regular sacrifice apply, while the transgression causes horror, so as to allow both the holy place and the host to be trampled?” 14He said to me, “For 2,300 evenings and mornings; then the holy place will be properly restored.

5Hear the word of the LORD, you who tremble at His word:
“Your brothers who hate you, who exclude you for My name’s sake,
Have said, ‘Let the LORD be glorified, that we may see your joy.’
But they will be put to shame.

6“A voice of uproar from the city, a voice from the temple,
The voice of the LORD who is rendering recompense to His enemies.

7“Before she travailed, she brought forth;
Before her pain came, she gave birth to a boy.

8“Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things?
Can a land be born in one day?
Can a nation be brought forth all at once?
As soon as Zion travailed, she also brought forth her sons.

9“Shall I bring to the point of birth and not give delivery?” says the LORD.
“Or shall I who gives delivery shut the womb?” says your God.

Joy in Jerusalem’s Future

10“Be joyful with Jerusalem and rejoice for her, all you who love her;
Be exceedingly glad with her, all you who mourn over her,

11That you may nurse and be satisfied with her comforting breasts,
That you may suck and be delighted with her bountiful bosom.”

12For thus says the LORD, “Behold, I extend peace to her like a river,
And the glory of the nations like an overflowing stream;
And you will be nursed, you will be carried on the hip and fondled on the knees.

13“As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you;
And you will be comforted in Jerusalem.”

Jesus, resurrected, on the third day, Easter Sunday.

btw, CG, I am looking for charts by Covenant Theology and New Covenant Theology on end time events.

How much clearer could it be than the scripture found below.

Christ made an end of sin, and made reconciliation for iniquity by fulfilling the New Covennat at Calvary, as revealed in Hebrews chapter 10.
Christ was anointed by His Father at His baptism, as revealed in Acts chapter 10.

Dan 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

Heb 10:16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
Heb 10:17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. (Quoted from the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34)
Heb 10:18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

Act 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

Some of us cannot accept what is plainly written in scripture, because they are trying to make their man-made doctrine work.

7000 year history is not just a dispens, view. It was held by the early church Fathers who were millennial in there eschatology (according to my book The Time of The End, by Tim Warner- and their writings are available in a set of books too; but are hard to read, because of how they wrote back then) and were what we would call Post-trib on the timing of when Christ would come back. Irenaeus (AD 120-202), Tertullian (AD 145-220), Hippolytus (AD 170-236), Cyprian (AD 200-258), Victorinus (AD ?-304), and others.

These are the facts, we have the writings available, we can read them. Literal interpretation went out of vogue in about AD 300s with Constantine's conversion to Christianity. Plato' teaching invaded the Church (matter is bad spirit is good) and that is where we get all the spiritual interpretations about everything in the Church-Israel, Heaven, the Kingdom, the resurrection body, until the 1800's, then dispensational teaching revived a belief in a more literal interpretation of the Bible. So we were awakened to this then.

The Jews coming back to the land and becoming a nation again in 1948- but not born again, proves prophecy should be taken in a literal manner. It just takes time to play out in Gods plan for the ages.

We don't need them, but the early writings help confirm what the people closest to the time of the Bible believed about the Bible. People that were fighting heresy. The Bible should be taken in a literal way for the most part, and we are at a time in history when we will see it all play out.

There are several people- that from independent study (one on these forums) believes we could be in the last decade before Christ come back.

It don't take a PHD to figure it out. We all know we are coming up on 2000 years since Jesus' went up from earth (30-33 AD, according to most scholars), so we will see soon enough. :)

Humans are sinners, they are not the most Holy - to be anointed

Scripture disagrees with you on both counts.

2 Corinthians 1:21
Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God;

1 John 2:27
But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

Ephesians 2
19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:

Colossians 3:12
Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

1 Thessalonians 5:27
I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren.

Titus 1
7 For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;
8 But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;

Hebrews 3:1
Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;

1 Peter 2:5
Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 2:9
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;

Go to my post #30 in this thread for some helpful information - about what chart is where in the video. And download information.

To Larkin's credit, he was willing to admit that dispensational futurism originated with the counter-reformationism of the apostate papacy's Jesuit Francisco Ribera.

Futurism can glory in its "wonderfully revived" counterfeit legacy.

"The “Futurist School” interprets the language of the Apocalypse “literally,” except such symbols as are named as such and hold that the whole of the Book, from the end of the third chapter, is yet “future” and unfulfilled, and that the greater part of the Book, from the beginning of chapter six to the end of chapter nineteen, describes what shall come to pass during the last week of “Daniel’s Seventy Weeks.” . . . In its present form it may be said to have originated at the end of the Sixteenth Century, with the Jesuit Ribera, who actuated by the same motive as the Jesuit Alcazar, sought to rid the Papacy of the stigma of being called the “Antichrist,” and so referred the prophecies of the Apocalypse to the distant future. This view was accepted by the Roman Catholic Church and was for a long time confined to it, but, strange to say, it has wonderfully revived since the beginning of the Nineteenth Century, and among Protestants. . . ., The “Futurist” interpretation of scripture is the one employed in this book."

none of those verses say "most holy".

Some of us cannot accept what is plainly written in scripture, because they are trying to make their man-made doctrine work.
wait a minute.... you are new covenant theology, a man-made doctrine. Which of Larkin's covenants on his chart do you disagree with?
