no no no, silly... they just report them.... of course that makes you wonder why they need pistols strapped to their hips as though they were John Waynes.....apparently they just "see, report and stay clear of"... at least, that is what I have been told... I hope that is the way that it remains.

Considering that these men have been threatened by violent and racist mexican street gangs (MS-13 for example) the need to be armed is apparent.

What about their 1st Amendment rights?

If one shoots a criminal in Arizon could a case be made that the individual is defending the state?

Only if the shooter could prove that he, or someone else, was in immediate, mortal danger. The law allows any citizen to kill to protect themself or another from being killed or from substantial bodily harm. The burden of prove of 'self defense' is on the shooter, and usually the benefit of the doubt will go to deceased during the investigation. Only when it is clear that the evidence bears out the claim, will a prosecutor decide not to bring charges against the shooter.

Since when is shooting a criminal an international incident? o_O

Since the ACLU decided to elevate the rights of illegals over those of US citizens, perhaps?

I don't want anyone to get shot. I just want the border protected, the US citizens who live on the border protected, and our laws respected and supported by our neighboring governments. Mexican authorities support the illegals and defend their right to violate US sovereignty and that can not be tolerated ever.

Respectfully

Oh an for the record, I'd rather have that yahoo that decides to shoot every Mexican crossing the border near me with an AK-47 than a noted gun control advocate like say, Diana Feinstein.

Definately the case but if they happens it wont be about protecting the state to the rest of the world. We have enough problems with international relations. These people patroling need to be very careful.

Actually (putting other faults of the US aside ) I think the rest of the world would find it very strange that the US doesn’t patrol it’s borders very well. Certainly in most countries I’ve visited, border security and illegal immigration are taken very seriously.

Yes, it is very strange. I hope that all of this will cause something official to be done about the problem... finally.

The ACLU seems to be concerned that this will end in tears. It's a concern I share. This could end so very very not well...

I have to confess, I'm concerned about driving through a hostile zone soon. I go to that part of Arizona from time to time, and what if it's open hostility, or battle?

I am overjoyed that the Minutemen are there!!! I am in Arizona and it's getting crazy here with thousands of illegals with no insurance on their cars, no emissions, no health insurance etc etc, pouring into our borders monthly. It literally has become overwhelming for us. I am glad the minutemen are there.

Why is it so hard for some people to understand that, in this case, the ACLU has done what it does, and the Minutemen have done what they do, and it's all working out fine?

It's ok, folks. It's working fine all around. No need to take cheap shots here.

I'm in Arizona and would very much like these yahoo John Wayne wannabes to go home before somebody gets killed.
The "Dukes" ain't goin home until 30 days is up. So get used to it. I suspect if bloodshed occurs it will be illegal gangs or criminals that start it.:preach:
