Why should little boys have their genitals butchered for the sake of hygiene instead of teaching boys how to clean themselves?

Women from places where the practice is effectively outlawed find circumcised dongs hilarious. They look like someone caught with their pants down in public. Embarrassed and ashamed.

It's cultural as much as religious. Nearly everyone I know is circumcised. So they tell me.

The rates of circumcision are highest in the South and Midwest and lowest in the West (partially due to the high Latino population, who do not have a cultural practice of circumcision).

And yes, parents should continue to have the legal right to have their children circumcised for medical, religious, and cultural reasons.

I actually haven't seen an cut one until recently, but they look so unnatural. Almost reminds me of a eunuch. A man who had something taken away from him.

Well if you'd like to see it as butchering that's up to you, but I don't. I know men who don't regret their circumcisions, it's healthier and it's a sign of a covenant with God.

If I have a son I'll get him circumcised.

Yes, exactly that. Like something missing. They look considerably less 'masculine', if you know what I mean. I always feel a bit sorry for them

Where do you live where they cut a large piece of skin when someone gets their ears pierced?

Also.. the analogy is silly, the hole created by a piercing can grow shut, foreskins don't regrow.

You are saying that a procedure is butchering that you have never actually witnessed. I have witnessed numerous circumcisions, and know that it is not butchering.

Why are women arguing about whether men should be circumcised? I mean, I get that you may have a preference for what they look like. And of course you know what you do or don't want for your own children. But why get self righteous over the topic in general? Why accuse other parents of butchering their children's penii because they are keeping a precept of their faith?

As a circumcised man, I'm totally fine with it, glad to have been circumcised, and plan on getting my future sons circumcised. I really don't get what all the fuss is about.

Do or don't do what you want. But this practice isn't going away any time soon.
