CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have always loved the way I could feel some of the innocence I used to feel as a child when I would listen to all the Christmas songs and see the houses decorated with the Christmas lights.
My Christmas would not be complete without hearing this song a few times.... I think it is one of the best.

For me, it's not Christmas until I get depressed while watching A Charlie Brown Christmas. I get depressed because I watched that special as a little kid. Back when my biggest worries were: was it gonna snow, will school be cancelled and when was the JC Penney, Sears and Toys R Us catalogs gonna show up. I had friends all up and down my street and we would build snowmen and snow forts and have snowball fights with each other. It was a fantastic time in my life over 30 years ago. Now it's gone & will never come again. More than anything I miss the innocence of youth.

Nah, I'm still too much of a child myself to be havin' kids. LOL But I am interested in why you think I would want to spend time with kids you don't even wanna spend time with. I mean, here you are wanting to loan them out to a complete stranger. LOL How bad must a kid be to make that happen? LOL

kids are a full-time responsibility...what a blessing to any parents to have a trusted friend or relative entertain their kids for awhile and let them have a moment to themselves.
Not having any children myself...I don't know who is blessed more...the parents who "lend" me their kids...or me for getting to spend time with their kids...kids know how to have the BEST FUN!

Dawn, you may like this, actually... still Carol of the Bells (which is what I searched for cos I hearts it HUGELY) and stumbled across this. It's done by the Trans Siberian Orchestra so it's tricked out with squealy geetarrs (frankly, it's a little odd) but the actual light show is spectacular
