  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Considering no Christian here believed UFOs are from "Satan" (and certainly none that I've ever met, although I'm sure there are some) I think your source was wrong.

Well actually the book didn't declare all Christians under this view. This is the excerpt:

Are there any hypotheses that retain the idea that UFOs are not physically real, but do not require that therefore they must be individual hallucinations? We have already come across some examples of UFOs interpreted as cultural manifestations: those that are attributed to Satan, or to the angelic forces opposing him. Once you have invoked supernatural forces of this kind, of course, you can invest them with whatever powers you choose: Satan can be supposed to built nuts-and-bolts UFOs as solid as an aeroplanea - or to construct a simulacrum capable of fooling our perceptive senses. Those who have outgrown devils and angels prefer to think in terms of cosmic forces, benevolent or otherwise: it is suggested that they make use of UFOs in the course of brainwashing us; but whether their aim is to decieve and distract us, or to raise our level of consciouness, depends on your point of view.

Like a few others here, I have no problem with the idea of alien life forms.:) It said God created the heavens and the earth, but it didn't say thats all he created, or just what all he put in the heavens, right? Now, whether these UFO's are aliens, funky lights caused by natural reactions with pollution, government aircraft, or any other explanation, I don't know, and I am not gonna try to speculate. But no, I do not think UFO's are signs from Satan. Usually, a sign has some kind of meaning. All I could possibly see one of those is "Look at the pretty lights and cease all belief in God!(this message is paid for by Tom Cruise)":D
