• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

How should Christians relate to homeless people, and how should they help? Should they help?
Is it a matter of prayer only, or what else should be offered?
Should non-Christians be helped?
What are your opinions? And what does the Bible say?
Are you, as saved Christians, under any obligation to help others?

Here is a video about one woman's experience of homelessness..
There is a ministry that I work thru called Love Inc,. they are in most US states.

I've been homeless, and slept under a few bridges myself BTW.

I often struggle with the best use of my time, and of my own energy and efforts, along with my own abilities/inabilities with how I can best "truly help people", etc, and it's something I put quite a bit of thought and energy and effort into over the years, and it's something I can still come up empty on sometimes in spite of all of it/that over the years, etc.

So, I guess I will just say that I will let you know when any more information is forthcoming on it, ok.

I do try to do practical help when and where I can, etc.

God Bless.

Would you withdraw your assistance because it doesn't feel like love anymore?
Just because you withdraw assistance doesn't take away from your love for them. Just assisting them in the first place shows you have compassion.
Drop them like a hot potato?
Yes! I would drop my kids from assistance if the burden became too overwhelming to me or I felt I was being used.
