  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

do you know where my name came from? No. So, cleraly you don;t have any idea what it means.

Also, saying 50 cent can rap better than Jesus is just absurd. What kind of point are you trying to make?

Okay, my remark about your name was a little bit overboard, so I'll take it back. It's just that it sounded unusual and it made it difficult for me to take you seriously, but anyway, sorry about that, I acted like a cracker.

As for your second paragraph, I disagree with, and I will provide serious EVIDENCE:

#1. In the time period that Jesus lived, music was not fully well known throughout the world. I doubt that early forms of hiphop/ rap or rock music existed back then, little, if any. Of course, people sang hymns and things like that, but that's not what I'm talking about. Jesus SPOKE to people, he did not grab a microphone and started singing.

#2. The Bible does not provide undeniable evidence that Jesus, or any of his "homeboys" possessed any sort of musical talent towards rhyming or any other sort of expression. I have read Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John and I have not read any parts where Jesus rapped. He did say poetry and a few hymns, but that is different. Since, no one knew the first thing about rap, how could they do something they didn't know the first thing about? Yes, Jesus was perfect, he could perform miracles and many amazing things, he was a very holy man and the world's saviour.

Now, before I go on, I am a Christian and I believe everything the Bible says about Jesus, just to clear things up. It's just that I believe some things are not as they appear to be. Now, if Jesus came back to earth right now and took some lessons, YES he could be way better than 50 Cent, Eminem, KJ-52, or anyone else (I'd even buy one of his records). But as for right now, we cannot explicitly say he could do something right out of the blue without doing a little research. Rapping is not as easy as most people think. It is NOT just rhyming words. It is keeping up with the music beat, and going at a certain speed, plus theres other technical things such as breath control and background music, but that's different.

You wanted me to back up my beliefs? I just did.

wow. the whole topic of Jesus rapping? i'm glad i missed it. lol.

anyway, lessons? shoot, i'm little 15 yr. old female whitey ova here who, without lessons, has shown up men twice my age (who grew up rapping) in freestyles. and i started exactly a year ago.

das why i know this is what God wants for me to do, das why He's blessed me wit a gift. but anyway.

lessons? palease. i also, before i started rapping, recognized what it took to be a good rapper. "It's NOT just rhyming words. It is keeping with the music beat, and going at a certain speed, plus theres other technical things such as breath control and backround music"

guess how i recognized this? by listening to the Cross Movement. it made me realize why i liked them so much.

because even during their freestyles, their flows, almost provided an extra snare drum in the beat because of the hot rhythm they provided with the already tight beat. even when they didnt have any background music, they still made tight rhythms with they flow of words, and rhymed PHRASES AND SENTENCES. which is exactly what i do, and i keep the flow. One of the members of the cross movement was freestyle for 16 minutes in a concert until he had to stop in order to do the sermon.

see, they got all the skills and more than mainstream cats, only, what makes them even better is the content. They fully represent Christ, and "spit the Gospel accurately in every verse"......to quote a freestyle......anyhoo.. and they convict you, teach you, and change you with the words and never fail to put Christ on the forefront.

You know Mase? clearly, that man couldn't even do that if he tried. and he clearly has tried. and as for the things that make him a good rapper? there's not much in that realm, let alone being able to put himself in back and let the light shine on Jesus instead of Mase.

I was saying it was absurd to say what you said due to what you have stated here. Saying 50 Cednt can rap better than Jesus could is like saying Ynwngie Malmsteen can play face melters better than Jesus. It's a stupid thing to say.

So, I ask again, what point were you attempting to make?

I was trying to say that I don't think Jesus was a rapper.

wow. stupid thread
LOL!
I mean, I am reading this and I am tripping. I feel ya xpunkskaterx!!!!
I have never heard of any believer saying "someone" could do something better than "Christ"
He was second to no man!
Music was created for Our God.
Did we not forgot that any talent we have to Glorify Him, came from Him, and for Him to use for His pleasure.
I feel kind of funny about even giving an explanation about this.
What I will say again,
There is no Greater Man than The Man Christ Jesus, never has and never will be!!!!
