Hey!

I had this idea for a new show!

yes as you guessed from the title it would be christian myth busters!

The idea for the show, would be that, a couple of guys (old myth buster format!) have the job of busting myths in christianity!

It would probaly be mostly theology (still interesting) but there would be other stuff as well.


What myths would you like to see tackled and why?

Which translationand language, and who's reading the Bible?

I'd like to see someone bust the myth publically that Satan is in charge of Hell.

Then when I say what my username is, they don't assume it's Satan.

As far as Christian myths go, my pet peeve is the phantom verses that everyone is sure are "in the Bible somewhere" but for painfully obvious reasons cannot actually find.

The one that is real, the Creator, the one that loves His creation.

The God of the Bible!

While it is within the realm of possibility to construct a logical argument showing the existence of God it is difficult to do. Evidence by the fact no one has come up with a completely convincing argument for the existence of God.
However if we say that such a logical and internally constant argument exists proving the existence of God then we are confronted by the additional problem of proving that the Christian God is the God we just proved exists. This proof that the Christian God is THE God would be next to impossible for two reasons…first is the existence of competing Gods and the fact that the claims that the Christian God is THE God can be echoed by any and all other Gods…but more importantly there is the argument from exclusion which offers convincing proof that the Christian God (at last as he is portrayed in the bible) is not THE God

I don't think that is the myth you meant, perhaps the one about ACLU not being for Christian causes like being against porn for kids, but then that is not a myth is it?

Intimicy with God. It's not a bad idea, but the word doesn't exist in back then's vocabulary. Only metaphores for it.

I would like to see the myth busted that Christ's atonement was not all inclusive. The truth that ultimately all will be saved needs to be rejoiced in.
