That God cares whether we are sprinkled, dribbled(?) or dunked.

That God cares whether we drink fermented coconut milk or plain grape juice or kosher wine.

Matthew 15:17-18
"Do you not understand that everything that goes into the mouth passes into the stomach, and is eliminated?
"But the things that proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and those defile the man.

Edit: this is too flippant, see my posts later.

That God doesn't care when you substitute elements in a sacrament.
1 Corinthians 11:27
Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord
Amen!

If the substitution is done to the glory of God, to use the bounty God has provided locally, to provide alternatives for alcoholics and those underage...

how is that an unworthy manner of celebrating Communion?

OTOH I have repented of my flippant tone in that post, please see the post I will make in a few minutes.

This is too flippant and I apologize.

As Blackguard's citation of Paul points out God does indeed care about what we do.

Paul elsewhere reemphasizes what Jesus says above, that we keep or not keep the Sabbath to the greater glory of God, that what is coming out of the heart is what is vitally important. The incendentals are not trivial, but neither are they of first importance.

I am a believer in Church, in community. Community provides stability in thought, checks against unthinking behaviour. As such traditions within Christian communities should be respected both by those within and without those communities.

Respected, not worshipped.
